Post subject: Action replay usb

Alright I'm serious about to just throw my xbox off the roof of my building, but before I do that...

I've read quite a few threads on compatibilty of usb devices and action replay and moding the .inf file etc. etc. I just can't seem to figure out why action replay won't recognize my usb device. I've changed the lines in the .inf files, still nothing.

I read that when I plug it to my xbox it should give and error and erase what ever is on it, and that it converts the usb to an xbox memory card. I did that but as soon as I plug it back to my computer I can't access the usb at all. I see it on my list of usb devices but in order to access it I have to format it first.

SO basically I know it's working, but I can't seem to get action replay to recognize it.

Any ideas? Thanks

Not all USB devices are compatible, unfortunately, and yuo may have one of those. Were you able to find it on one of the usb compatability charts?

Do you happen to ahve teh equipment to make a controller->male USB adapter? If you can you can install the HID drivers for the controller, you can actually access the memory card for a controller directly. Don't know if this is an option though

Well I doubt it's even on the list it's a digital camera.

I've tried 3 usb devices and the only that my xbox formated was the digital camera one. Xbox said that the others are damaged.

By male you mean xbox controler to pc? or?..

Yeah, xbox controller to pc. allows for easy access straight to a memory card.

you have to use the action replay software to transfer the exploit you cant access it like a regular FAT or FAT32 usb device only action replay will recognize it

Yeah I know that, but action replay isn't recognizing my usb after xbox formats it, and I've changed the lines in the device part of the xbreader.inf file. It doesn't show up as an action replay device when I try to update the driver.

I can't get in touch with my buddy who has a modded console already.
I might try a hotswap but it's kind of sketchy. Also I can't find a decent tutorial or the files needed. :/

Dangermouse had helped me get my memorystick working on my USB without going through the format and re-format between the Xbox and the PC.

The AR driver need to be edited. The PC needs to be able to recognize the fatx device. In the AR directory there's an .ini file you can edit. Here's a good tut for it.
