Relatively new to all things x-box and seem to have hit a rather large hurdle.
I'm running a hard modded xbox with Evox8 bios, AID3.0 installed and was using XMBC as dash.
I think the prob may have started with me locking the box, but my main probs started when messing with the settings in XMBC. I somehow managed to turn off all view and autorun options resulting in norm start up of xbox splash & 1st XMBC screen & music, followed by a non usable black screen.
Had already set up & used FTP but when tried to get into & repair what had done found out this was no longer an option as no connection established.
(I'm starting to panic around now )
After 30 or 40 attempts to boot up AID3.0 from disk, I now find the box freezes at initial splash screen and occasionally when i get beyond this i end up at the X-BOX screen with the EVOX8 icon at top left. I still no disks will boot or any other options.
I remembered i still had my orig 10GB HDD so installed this to see what happened. After a few freezes and a shakey start i managed to get to the previously used dash which was evox dash I'd used to set up FTP just before replacing HDD with larger 1.
I can also load AID3.0 disk, which leads me to question time.
Do i have any other options now i can boot AID3.0 with old 10GB hdd installed that could help repair my new and probably corrupt HDD?
From reading up myself it seems I can hotswap and rebuild C partition but as my xbox confidence levels are quite low at mo, is this my only option.
Thanks in advance Matt.
P.S If this has already been answered my apologies, but understand there's a "HELL"! of a lot of info on all things X-BOX out there.

I have tol some other ppl this. But google CoreFTP . I had the same problem. I had messed something up editing an .xml and couldn't get into evox with flashfxp. Anyhow Pezzer told me about coreftp and I am able to ftp into my Xenium OS screen. Try it ,its free .No trial period. I use flashfxp as my main ftp but when I get into trouble I use coreFTP. Also had the problem with my hard drive,I thought it was toast, got mad unplugged it didn't mess with it for a couple of months. Then one day my nephew's friend wanted to play it and plugged it in and magically it worked, but only GTA played . I didn't want to do it , but I went to the Xnium OS and reformatted the drive. From there I was able to run the AID disc and with that I totaly refomatted again and did a fresh install of everything. Now it works like a new XBOX. Sorry for the long story, but maybe this will help! _________________ Life is like a jalepeno. What you do today, may burn your ass tomorrow!

Hhmm thanks for the reply Shaymus and its def worth a try which i'll do later.
1 Small & prob daft question. Are the I.P, default gateway etc numbers stored in memory or on the HDD?
Meaning the 10GB HDD which is currently in the box is still set up with the edited FTP settings and not the xbox default settings.
If i change HDD to the corrupt one will it have reset back to default? _________________

I think they're on the chip. If not you can set them in the dash. _________________ Life is like a jalepeno. What you do today, may burn your ass tomorrow!
