Ok, here's question number one:
Just to make sure I'm understanding everything properly, this will allow me to replace my retail HDD with a bigger one and I don't need a second, chipped, xbox or a PC?!?

Yeah, I switched from the softmodded retail HD to a 300gig maxtor and just copied the files. Do you have the how to for chimp? You have to be like...perfect when it comes to switching the ide cables or you wont get the drive to detect (the bigger HD), I had to try over and over the second time I did it.

Just finished upgrading my HDD last night with Chimp and now my Xbox is rocking! Chimp was so easy and the hole process was pretty fast (at least, a lot faster then I thought it would be).

Well I had A disaster, i connected the new drive and my retail drive started ticking, which means the retail drive is shot.
Luckuly i had my eeprom saved on PC so i used xboxHDM 1.9 and that was i sucess _________________ Xbox V 1.4

I'e never heard of software actually damaging a drive. If it was ticking there would have to be physical damage to the drive so the drive arm is hitting the plate or the casing.

Hi guys, I got 1.6 xbox. I tried using chimp to move my roms and backup xbox games from my old hd to a new one. Everytime I launch the chimp, the screen is blur and moving and then it only shows a blank green on screen. Is there anything that I do wrong here? Is there any other way to move my roms and backup games?

You would have to connect it to your network, and do this in window:
1. Click Start button
2. Click Run
3. Type "cmd"
4. Type "telnet <network address of xbox"
