Ok, i hotswaped, but i didnt have my eeprom backed up. Since i dont have it, can u guys gimme a link to a good soilderless modchip [cheap and that will do the job] so i can get my xbox up? I did xboxhd 1.9, and i used a xbox hq hotswaping tutorial, but it made no sence, i formated the hd, and there was no point of recreating C and F and all those sectords of the HD, and there was no eeprom left on the HD, i cant get it up, it gave me eror 5. What can i do now, since hotswaping isnt working? _________________

You can use a Xenium regardless of the Version xbox. The only thing is that if you have a V1.6 you will need a different solderless adapter V1.0- 1.5 use the same one. _________________

there is also a eeprom reader you can make to read the eeprom chip off the xbox so you can lock it again but its for some one with some experience in building electronics per say, J8994 can recover it for ya as he has one built and offering the service. _________________

i might chip the xbox, but i might as well buy another xbox with a damaged dvd drive, and switch it for my dvd drive. That is one solution, and the other one is the chip. I duno which chip to buy, and i also dunno what version is my xbox, lemme take a peek, under the xbox if there is the version of it down there.... nope, it wont say anything... how can i tell what version is my xbox? and i also need a cheap chip, and make sure that the chip you will choose for me can power up the xbox without showing me eror 5, is solderless [no wiring required, easy instalation] and that will read the eeprom, cuz i reformated my hd, and i dont have anything on it except for ms dash. hurry up, im desperate _________________
