Okay, I've got mIRC and SmartFTP on my PC. Then I got the two Splinter Cell files from distribution.xbins.org, and finally...
When I tried to place both of the files into the "memory" sections of my Action Replay MAX, a pop-up says "this is not a valid Xbox save".
WTF gives? can someone help me and tell me what I did wrong? Or at least tell me what to do with these "invalid" saves?

Where are you placing the files? It's been a while but I believe the save files folders should be numeric and you should be placing them in the Udata folder.

when you drag the splinter cell files from your computer into the AR menu your suppost to drag it in the middle, along with the rest of the sample game saves that AR gave you when u installed it, and then from there you drag it into the memory card

DiskGolf, the UDATA is INSIDE the SC save. So what are you trying to tell me to place inside UDATA?
toofly, I tried that. And I know the saves should work, because thousands of ppl have tried and succeeded.
Before I asked for help in xbox-hq, someone else told me I had to open a original AR file and get something called "datelinfo"? Then they said to copy it to both the SC files. I tried it and nothing happened.

i dont think you understand wat im saying, you said that when you tried to drag the splinter cell files into the "memory card" is said not valid. well dont drag it into the "memory card" drag the splinter cell files into "pc database" and then drag it from "pc database" over to "memory card"
and by the way, because the AR memory card is only 8mb you might have to drag each linux installer in 1 at a time. meaning.....drag first installer into memory card then into xbox harddrive. then next etc.

I tried dragging them to the memory card AND the PC database... but it still doesn't work. And no, I dragged them one at a time.
Does it matter if I use AR MAX or just the original one?

no it doesnt matter, after you drag it into "pc database" go to the very top of the list in pc database. do you see a folder called Linux Installer? if you do then your should be doing it right, drag the content of that folder into "memory card" if you do not see that folder then the splinter cell files your using are not SID valid files. if so let me know and ill send you the ones that will work.

nope, not working. wait... what are the file names supposed to be? I got them from distribution.xbins.org (through mIRC and SmartFTP).
The ones that I have are called:
splinter_cell_exploit-pal.zip
splinter_cell_exploit-ntsc.zip

Sound to me like the saves you grabbed might be for a different media. Maybe gameshark? Just to be safe, shoot over to www.aideluxe.com and grab the SID 4.5 installer from the downloads secion. Read the manual thuroughly and follow it step by step, and I garauntee you'll be rockin in no time.
Note: main reason I say this, is because we don't really rely on xbins to host our files anymore. A lot of the time they become out of date, and we just want easier access for our files, so we have the VIP servers, and the downloads sections of our sites to make it easier for everyone. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

i didn't know my method was old!! hmph...
okay then I'll go download the other files. But I stilll have a long way to go! This was only to mod my dashboard... After I get that done, what program do I download to edit my "new maps"?
EDIT: I downloaded the SID 4.5 torrent file. Now what?

now drag the new SID files into the AR like i showed u to remember the files names should be wat i told u in the post above and then from pc database drag them over to memory card, you might have to do them one at a time depending on your memory card size then copy from memory card to xbox hard drive. run splinter cell open the linux file and mod your xbox

WAHH!!!! I can't find any saves inside the SID 4.5 torrent file!!! Do I open the torrent file? Or did I download something that I shouldn't have?
FYI: This is the 3rd forum that I've came to find out how to fix this darn thing.
EDITED: toofly, I think it'd be easier if you just emailed me the files you used. All I freakin need is some working files and then I can get a move on...

what you downloaded in the torrent is .rar'd up. Inside of the .rar you'll find the files, in FULL perfectly working oder.
BTW: Torrents are very small files that give you access to a tracker where a lot of other people are sharing that file. For that SID download it should have take at least 10-20 minutes to download.
