I use my xbox on a 10 year old tv. My parents won’t let me use it on the new tvs because they are always watching tv on it. But anyway i have a flat screen monitor with better picture than the tv. I was thinking about getting a VGA box and using the monitor instead. A good one is around 50 bucks. But I also have a tv tuner in my pc, so if I get an xbox RF adapter and to monitor using the tv tuner will I get about the same picture as the VGA box.
I want to know if its worth getting the VGA box or getting the cheater RF adapter. Any suggestions welcomed.

The RF adapter will work, but you will not get as nice of a picture as you would with a true VGA adapter (it uses HDTV resolution). I would spend the $10 and give the RFU a try. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

Like LEE337 said, you will get a better picture quality from a direct connection. In addition, you don't need to mess with the tuner software. My tuner works good for softmods and such, but I can't play games as there is a 1 second delay in the video that is displayed on the screen. I have a xbox 1.6, I did the VGA mod using xboxrepairguide mod but it didn't work. well it worked but no picture. I not it worked because the xbox still boots when I just have the moniter connected and not the other connector. I doesn't boot if I don't have the connector that came with the xbox. I looked around after that.
I found that the i need a firmware or something before it will work. but, all the ones I found were for the xbox up to Version 1.5. I have a tv tunner with a vedio conenctor, the yellow one, i worked fine with no dilays, but the pic wasn't that good. so am gonna try the coaxial and see i can get a better picture.
I will let you guys know how it goes. Thanks for the input
