Ok, so I am definitely the biggest Newb on here but I need help. I just installed a larger HD in my xbox and installed UnleashX as my dashboard. I have NO desire what so ever to cheat on x box live and have never done so. Unfortunately, I can't log on to my old account.
Right after the install, I was able to play Halo 2 on XBL for a few hours then I quit. when I tried to log in I had the same problem that Ice-Man had. I would type in my password to log on and the progress circle would come up for like .5 secs then disappear then say there was no network detected. I would trouble shoot and it would tell me to check if my disk was scratched. If I kept trying to connect it will go directly back to the start screen.
Can anyone tell me what I should to connect?
To answer the first question that is likely to come up, No I have never tried to log in through the Unleash X dashboard, I have used the MS dashboard everytime. I made no changes the system between the time it was working and when it miraculously stopped.
any ideas on what I should do?

I know where to change it, but how do I know what to change it to? Or does it automatically change itself?

All u have to do is change the "Network Settings" in ur unleashx dasboard to DHCP then go to ur MS dash board and change the network settings to Automatic...that should fix it...

I tried changing to DHCP and there was no effect. When I tried to log on it said, Updating your console. . . . . . then it says cannot connect to X box live check to see if your disk is scratched.
Anyother ideas?

XBL has been set up to detect HDD size changes (ie modding) and if one plans to play on XBL after modding, one should mod and upgrade the drive prior to sign up.
At this point, I'm afraid you would need a new eeprom.

There are alternatives that are free and very much like XBL, they are XBConnect and Xlink Kai.

I would use Xlink Kai. Most people with a modded box , including me use Kai to go online, it's free and you don't have to worry about the almight Banhammer. _________________

I have been playing halo2 on XBL for months and months with my modded box no sweat. Someone here told me to lock the drive before I play and bypass the mod and you are good to go. If you play online with the mod chip enabled they will ban you within the hour, I guess you are simple to find. This happened to my buddy and he had to go online I think fleabay, and get a virgin Eprom, like $5, then he was back in action.
