hey everyone, i was looking at the hdd section and i noticed that someone put a 320GB hdd in there xbox. thats freakin awsome. i was wondering what id need to do this. my 1.6 is softmodded with UnleashX. also i was wondering if anyone knew how big the Seagate hdds are, the ones with the black rubber coating on them? also i was wondering about the partions. if you put games on the original hdd. can you put some in the other partions besides E:/? i have quite a few games but no dvd burner yet so i thought id get a bigger hdd. do you need a chip to lock it or anything like that. i was thinking of getting a hdd thats around 100-300GB or whatever. someone offered me 2 40GB hdd a while back but they havent gotten back to me . does anyone have a big hdd i can get for cheap? let me know. \m/Thor\m/ _________________ If you wanna check out some of my music go to http://www.myspace.com/4evertrying Ill appreiciate your support.

you can put any hd size on the xbox ... a softmod and a chip will end result same = allowing unsiged codes .... so you can put games on E F or G *( you acuire F and G as you upgrade hd ) * .... read here

ohhh its simple just burn the game to either E F G and once its burned inside just choose fromt game list on the dashboard so no you dont need to check the file manager . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

you also need a modified ide cable as well, or do what I do lol, My xbox maybe chipped but basically the same principal except you have to format the harddrive with xboxhdm and I dont, I just swap the harddrives out and leave my xbox open lol, or you can put in a power switch for the harddrives and a modified ide cable and a xbox xtender kit and you can have it all inside the xbox. _________________

if i were you i'd just make a bigger hd ... save all hasles its faster easier and maybe cheaper.. in staples theirs a 200gb hd for $50 bucks! 50 man... and its lockable i have that one _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Its up to him on what he wants to do, if you want you can have two 500 gig harddrives in your xbox, and besides one part of the country can have a sale on the harddrive dont mean that everywhere else does. _________________

two 500GB hdds hellblazer. dont make me drool. thats a terabyte right? one other thing i wanted to discuss is the dist-1.1.4-xbox iso i downloaded. its Xebian for Xbox. i was thinking of making my new xbox into a computer to surf the net. i burned the iso on a cd-rw and put it in the xbox and the light was a solid orange but it was working. it loaded up and i clicked the Mozilla icon and i was on the net! i suppose it would work better with a usb keyboard and mouse right? has anyone ever used this in here? and to my suprise after i restarted and ejected the disc, my xbox was still softmodded! that was sweet. do i have to use the disc everytime or can i install it to the hdd? does anyone have a link to a site where they describe how to build a usb keyboard and mouse for the xbox? if so please post it. also if anyone has had experience with this please tell me about it. im pretty interested in what else this can do. as far as the hdd goes i will probably go for a bigger hdd asap (as soon as i have money) lol or as soon as someone gives me a good offer till then thanks \m/Thor\m/ _________________ If you wanna check out some of my music go to http://www.myspace.com/4evertrying Ill appreiciate your support.

yes 2 500GB harddrives is a terabyte lol but your gonna have to get extra cooling into the xbox so you dont overheat the xbox lmao. I cant wait for the 750 GB harddrives Im gonna get one maybe 2 I dont know yet lol _________________

I can try and find ya some tutorials to make usb ports on your xbox if you want if you want to loose 2 contoller ports on your xbox. Or a tut to make female usb cords out of xbox contoller cords. _________________
