Ok this is what happened. I recently received a friend's xbox and a maxtor 120gb hardrive. Everything was going great, and it all went well but then I locked the hdd successfully and then I put it in my box and I get error 6. I know it means unable to unlock harddrive, but why doesnt it work. Any immediate help would be great. _________________ Moddingbandit

You can only use a locked hdd in the xbox that locked it. So.. go put it in the xbox you locked it in, and unlock it. Then you can put it in the other xbox (assuming it's chipped) and lock it. If it's not chipped, you'll need to do a hotswap... _________________ OTB Mods.com

it means it cant unlock it , why? wrong eeprom.bin ......... so you need to lock it with the correct eeprom.bin that is married with the mobo. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

means that the eeprom.bin has a unique code that if it doesnt match the motherboard then it will deny to accept it and give you an error code.....

lol, Well I do, but I am very sick right now and my head hurts but alas, I have a job to complete with this hdd.
Ok here is what I did. I made a disc using xboxhdm. everything worked. Even locked it correctly. However, when I loaded it back into the xbox, it gave me error 6. _________________ Moddingbandit

ok that wasnt hard, wrong eeprom.bin that simple....

His crappy computer wont boot normal harddrives anymore, hes calling Dell about it, its now a computer issue, and he dont have a Windows XP disk to fix the problem. _________________
