Hi sorry if this has been answered before but searched the forum,
but could not find the exact problem.
Ok my friends softmoded xbox showed an error 16 so i tried
a tutorial for eliminating this problem.
I unlocked my HDD with the Slayer Bootdisk App.
then swapped it with the other xbox so that we could reset the clock.
It did not work so i put the HDD back to lock it again, but
when i did the program froze. It said it was done locking the HDD
so i thought it was ok to reboot the console.
But when I did the error 5 appeared... so it did not lock the HDD
after all. So now I have these two xboxes that i fuxed up.
So what should I do? hotswap?
I did a backup of my entire harddrive
before the hotswap, as recommended by the app.
so I have the eeprom...
Now what do I do?

i would hotswap or install a MODCHIP.
Modchips make things so much easier when you run into errors like this.

If you have a modchip machine around you can always swap out the hdd's etc and reformat.. Theres many methods..

But i would suggest you try the pirrups hotswap tutorial first.. It has worked for 1000's of guys now.. Check out the post about it too.

I can vouch for chips making life easier in these situations tho.. boot the chip, pop in AID3, use it to resinstall m$ dash files.. done.

If you can't get the hotswap working correctly, pick up a cheap chip Wink
