It depends on whether you plan on storing videos as well as games. Then you will need a bigger hdd. _________________

hop on over to newegg.com, I just got a 320gig for $119 shipped. That should fit all of your possible needs, and the hard drive was a western digital which is like 10x more reliable than the maxtors.

i dont have a credit card to be ordering ish....and i dont know where that is but im in canada so im guessin it'd be more....
theres western digitals at this place too...ill have a look at em....but ive never seen anyone say anything bad about their maxtors on here...
the western digitals they had were only 8mb buffer i think too...the maxtors are 16mb..... _________________

as long as its 8 mb buffer and 160 gb 7200 rpm to 320 is all you need. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

so are you saying the maxtors are unreliable?
cause heres the break down:
maxtor 300gb 7200rpm 16mb buffer = $139
western digital 320gb 7200rpm 8mb buffer = $139
if theres no real issue of reliability i'd go with the maxtor and extra 8mb buffer over the western digital's extra 20 gigs.... _________________

I agree go with the biggest that you want to buy. I wouldn't go with a hard drive with less than 200gb, I would recommend getting a 300gb, as you can use the xbox to store files from the computer as backup/hiding. I've got a 200gb maxtor, I've installed several 200gb maxtors for my friends, I had a 5 year old maxtor 80gb go dead on me, but it was used for 4 years in my pc which was basically constantly on for that entire time, and I also used it a year in my xbox. I believe I got my money's worth, and it did give me some warning signs. I also carried my xbox around kind of roughly so part of the failure was more than likely due to bumps. _________________
