i just softmodded my xbox v1.0 and now im looking at upgrading to a larger hard drive.
my main concern here is what is the largest possible size hard drive (not partition) that the xbox bios can support
im going towards a 200 to 300 gb seagate
thanks

Just finished softmodding a v1.0 with sid 4.5, then upgraded to a 300gig seagate with no problems.Should'nt matter how big it is ,just make sure its lockable.
Hope that helps _________________ XBOX v1.0:

hey any size can be put on a xbox but i think a 200-300 is good enough....
now everyone i tell how to upgrade hds they thank me alot because this seems to be the esaiest tut their is .....
heres the link enjoy.... you need to ftp and transfer eeprom.bin to xboxhdm1.9 and on C folder a retail ms dash located from pirrup signiture... extract ms-c and drag those into xboxhdm1.9 folder C ....
look around staples circuit city and other stores they usualy have a good deal on hds... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Just remember the bigger the harddrive the hoter your xbox is gonna get, so you gonna have to turn up the fan speed. _________________

thanks guys
in regards to cooling, is it as simple as changing the stock fan for a fan of equiv size?
and in regards to my final choice on a hard drive, it would safer to get a drive that is lockable to v1.0? the drive that i am looking at is has been locked for v1.6b but hasnt been tested on a v1.0

A softmod MUST always be locked and it is a REQUIREMENT .... if not you WILL load error code . So it must be lockable . _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
