I jst used my action replay card and splinter cell to install the sid4 thing, somehow I ended up with the evolutionx welcome screen thing. Before I installed the softmod, i backed up everything it would let me. When I go back to try to unitnstall it, it freezes up when I click on checkpoints. This is really disappionting 'cause i temporarily can't use xbox live. If anyone can help me uninstall it I would GREATLY appreciate it!

Download AID3.0, Burn it to DVD-R, and use the uninstall and reinstall functions on the disk.
1st you need to unmount the virtual c drive then reboot.
2nd you 'Format Retail HDD', DO NOT REBOOT!
3rd 'Install M$Dash 5960',DO NOT REBOOT!
4th install SID 4.5 with Dual Boot (Open=Retail), NOW Reboot!
Congratulations, you just Re-Softmodded your Xbox! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

I deleted all other saves for my exploit game (splinter cell) so linux is the only save there and it still freezes up when i try to open the installer. And LEE337, I don't want it to be modded at all anymore, I just wanna get this mod off and have an un-modded xbox left that I can use to play on xbl, but thanks anyways.

And if it helps you guys any, here is the best description I can offer on what mod I have:
On the welcome scrren thing is the following options:
-play games from hard drive*
-xbox game trainers*
-launch emulators*
---------------------------------
-play game / media from dvd
---------------------------------
-launch applications*
-microsoft dashboard
-choose a different skin*
-system settings
-reboot xbox
-power off xbox
* = when i choose this it takes my to another sreen were i can't do anything but go back
in the background there is a thing rotating that says EvolutionX and the jewel on the front of the xbox is red even though my cords are all connected. In the lower left hand corner it says "D Name : Xbox-Hq", it looks like there's something before the d, but the corner of my tv cuts it off. In the lower right it says "EvolutionX V+3935" the five is actually cut off, it just looks like a five. And once again, thanks for any help you can offer.

Well If you follow the instructions I gave you, when you power the Xbox on with the Eject button(and leave the tray open until the M$ logo appears) you will be able to use Live without the possibility of getting banned! And you will have a Modded Xbox when you start with the power button.
If you still want to have a completely stock Xbox, follow the instructions I gave you and reboot after installing MS-Dash 5960. then your Xbox will be Stock with the latest RETAIL MS-DASH (5960).
Does this work for you?
Other than that, you can HotSwap your HDD with Xbox HDM 1.9 and the latest MS-Dash files, and rebuild your HDD.(There are Tutorials available.)
I hope this helps! _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

You'll need WinRAR(Shareware) or 7-Zip(Free) to open the file. You can get 7-Zip from the AIDeluxe.com Downloads section.
Which one are you going to do?
SID 4.5 or Stock? (Just wondering ) _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

You can, but it may be difficult. Drop in AID3.0 into your disk tray and power off the xbox. Power back on and see if it boots AID. If not, you will have to hotswap, check the tutorial section for the info on how, or look for a member named Pirrup, he has the tutorial and the M$ dash files in his signature. _________________ Hotswap|HDD Upgrade|X3 Guide

Hi,
I have HDTV and component cables but XBMC will not let me change resolutions to 480p, 720p, widescreen etc.
I want to restore the M$ dashboard so that I can enable HDTV widescreen resolutions in the M$ dashboard settings.
I have the AID 3.0 deluxe CD.
The instructions say:
1: you need to unmount the virtual c drive then reboot.
2: you 'Format Retail HDD', DO NOT REBOOT!
3: 'Install M$Dash 5960' reboot.
How do I unmount the virtual c drive so that I can format it?
I could'nt figure out step 1: so I skipped it.
I tried format C drive(instead of Format Retail HDD) and restored M$Dash 5960 but on reboot XBMC takes over.
Help.

The virtual C drive keeps people from accedentially screwing things up!
Yes, you need to unmount it to actually change the stuff in your real c-drive. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

what are the steps to unmount the virtual C drive? I do not mind going back to retail mode and doing the softmod again.
Also what is the difference between Format C drive and Format Retail HDD?
