Hey everyone,
I'm not totally new to modding but with this problem it sure feels like it. I've softmodded my little bros xbox with Ndure and got that up and running but when i try to ftp to it, it forcibly closes the connection. Now i know how to ftp (i have a hardmodded xbox) so thats not the problem. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with his.
P.S. Don't know if this helps but we tried getting his xbox on live a while back but kept getting ip, dns, mac address, problems with his xbox.

Go onto the MS Dash, and under network settings, make sure that your Ip adress stuff is set to automatic. That might work, because I was having the same problem, and when I did this, it fixed it.

ok well I can tell you this, evox is tempramental when your trying to ftp to it, mine i played with every setting and it still didnt ftp in, so i installed Xbox Media Center(XBMC) as a application and used that to ftp to my xbox. Now do you have AID 3.0 or AID 2.11? _________________

No luck. But i did notice something while i was in media center though. In system info under network, it shows that the xbox is not connected to the internet even though all wires are in place. Could this possibly mean that somethings wrong with the xbox itself???

Yeah i checked on that and it is on and it's green. I guess its connecting cause when i unplug the ethernet cable the ip on the evox dash dissapears and when i plug it in it comes back. Still stumped though. I guess thats what he gets for getting a used/refurbished xbox. If you or anyone else has any more ideas, please let me know

try turning off your windows firewall..
If that dont work do this and paste your results.
1. click start menu
2. Choose run
3. type 'cmd' and press enter
4. type 'ipconfig /all' and press enter
paste your result here with your xbox ip address you are getting.
We will try to help.
also, heres a tutorial on how to setup your ftp to xbox connection.. The simplest i could write one.
