Hey guys I want to know if I can take a matching 3944 hdd I bought off ebay still locked and install it into another crashed xbox that has a 3944 motherboard and hdd because the drive is bad

not possible every eeprom and harddrive have thier own unique locking code, and when you put the other harddrive in the xbox you will get an error code 6.

What if he puts a modchip in first? then do you still have to worry about the eeproms and the matching? or will it just work as long as he runs it only with the modchip enabled?
