Hello everyone,

I read on another thread about Xselect and using it to allow launching of any number of dashes. I inherited my Xbox with a xenium chip and running Xenium OS 2.3.0.

Will Xselect replace the Xenium OS or will it be a launch option? Sorry for the newbie questions, but the box is running well and I don't want to mess it up playing around with Xselect so I can run XBMC as dash.

I have the AID v3.0 tested and working, so I would be using that to install xselect. All progs and dashes on the xbox now were installed using a previous version of the AID.

Cheers and thanks for the help,
Tom

Hey there, no xselect will not harm your xbox at all. Just put it in the drive with all your apps and dashes and itll give you the option of what you wish to boot up when you start your xbox. It wont hurt anything, just setup the way the wish and enjoy.

Thanks for the quick informative reply. I will go check out my hard disc and see which drive the dashes were installed too. On a typical AID install on a "larger" (250 Gb) hard drive, what is the default install drive for the dashes?

Cheers,
Tom

The first one that you have will be default and the others will be apps.

Hello again,

I threw in the AID 3.0 disc and I must have been confused about what XSelect is exactly. Is it a tool to install? I was browsing around the disc and unable to find xselect. I also read through the manual for the AID v2 and it does not list XSelect as a tool or dash, just that you can use it to boot dashes. In my roundabout way, what is XSelect and where can I choose to install it from the AID disc?

Cheers and thanks for helping this helpless newbie.

Cheers,
Tom

well all xselect is, is a way to choose which dash or app. you want to boot up on start up of your xbox. You can set it up to boot what you want or something secondary to choose. Its not in apps. or tools. It is in the advanced options. With the SIDlite and softmods.

And if you have a bigger hdd, check what dashes are on it. Is it on F or G drive? Whichever, you put xselect in there. I hope that clears it up. And no its not an install tool, just a boot-up option.
