Hi all,
I have a xbox with a xecuter 2.3CE modchip and a 80GB HDD in it. now if i go on xbox live will i get band?
of corse i will have the HDD locked and the modchip off but would i get baned because iv got a new HDD?

Yeah, even if the chip itself is off and you upgraded the hard drive AFTER you've alread been on live, you'll get banned. Happened to me. Take enigma's advice, use xlink kai, it rocks! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

Yeah, the EEPROM and hard drive are "married" together. If one of them is different, a flag goes off telling M$ that you modded your box. That's one theory which I'm sure is probably right cause it happened to me. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

The eeprom is a code that identifies the xbox to itself and XBL.

So the EEPROM is the like the brain of the xbox then so do i have modify the part of the HDD so the EEPROM serial is the same as the new HDD.

You are correct. You can also purchase new "unbanned" EEPROMs, you just have to make sure it's for your version of xbox. In my case, I upgraded my hard drive and got banned. I bought a new EEPROM and still got banned because the hard drive was "banned" as well. So in order to get unbanned, I need a new hard drive/eeprom combo. I did a bit of a google serch on it.
And some web sites say to prevent XBL baning with a new HDD you just have to turn off your modchip and have you HDD locked _________________ XBOX 360 Premium edition

All this stuff is still fresh in my mind since i am doing my chip for the first time. I, too, have been reading a lot and I have seen many posts asking the same question and all were the same. Turn your modchip off, restart xbox with original dashboard and then play online. In no way am I saying I know this by fact, just relating what I've read over the past couple days
