I have no dashboard now! Great! Im so happy thats the 2nd xbox I have messed up with SID. From all the tutorials it seems easy but it isnt. After my backup of the MS is done and my eeprom, I just got confused. Do I install the softmod or the dashboard? I got annoyed and guessed. Boy was it a mistake. Now I cant use the hdd to transfer my exploit from the memory card so I cant restore my dashboard. And I am NOT GOING TO PAY £50 FOR A FREAKING MODCHIP!

Congratulations on your failures, sorry to be an ass, but it's not our problem you suffer from low comprehension, and lack on reading skills.
How hard is it to, backup eeprom, backup ms, install softmod for SID 4+, or
make ms backup, install softmod, install dashboard, patch ms dash for SID 3??

nicely put nknave.........but in another subject i need to fix my harddrive that i had almost the same thing happen.....i can boot games but i get no dash! what can i do? also i can acces my eeprom through xbhdm but how can i copy?

manny, since you can access games, all you have to do is resoftmod. also, i suggest you get AID 3.0 since it has the msdash on it and use that to make an msdash backup on your xbox hd... personally though, when i did my first softmod for a friend's xbox i almost messed it up. the guides for the older versions of SID weren't that clear to me i guess. but for the newer versions like SID 4.5 and SID 3.1 final, they are pretty much fool proof. i've done around 5 softmods all with flawless installs now using nknave's SID 4.5 (always my first choice ) keep up the good work nknave. as for bayub, i'm sorry you messed up your xbox, but for now i think the only thing you can do is a hotswap...check out this link. http://xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html
there may be another way but i'm no expert.
