Hey guys, I am new to modding Very Happy so have been doing alot of reading in reards to this. I have a xbox (not sure of the version) I also have evox both the dash and bios, i have xboxhdm v1.9, dvd2xbox v7.4. I created the ISO file in xboxhdm. I was wondering if the evox dash should go in the root dir for the linux folder or it should go in the C folder. In regards to the dvd2xbox is it a dashboard by it self or his it just an app that can run within the evox. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Embarassed

Just copy your entire hard drive to the correct folders in the xboxhdm 1.9 folders =P that should do it.

IF you're doing a hotswap, i'd get ahold of a the retail files (avaliable in pirrup's signature [about 90 MB?]), put those in C, leave the E drive blank, make ISO, burn. I'd also read the tut located here: http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/postt7728.html and follow steps 5 to the end. that should do it.

Sorry, I'm drunk so if any of that didnt make sense let me know -.- Rolling Eyes

To answer your question about DVD2XBOX, it's an application.

Use DVD2XBOX to backup your game discs to the HD. If you want to burn copies of those same games, you might consider using QWIX to copy those same games to your PC to burn the patched ISO.

Thank you for for answer it was greatly appreciated. Ok. here's what happen, i don't have access to my xbox as yet, my xbox is still in it's virgin state. I was reading up on SID3 and thought that i could do that but the thing is i don't have the 007, mechassualt or splinter cell. Here is what i wanted to do, create a new HD and take out the one in my box and put the created one in. I have created the ISO file already, here's what I have in the folders. C---> evox dash, bios folder, skins folder and evox.ini. F--> I have a bios folder, Applications folder with dvd2xbox. E--> blank. eeprom folder I used the eeprom.bin file from configmagic would that work? Embarassed

So, if I understand you correctly, your Xbox is unmodded.

If that's so, how did you get the eeprom information?

Without the specific eeprom info from your motherboard, you can't lock the HD using XBOXHDM.

Unless you have a chipped Xbox, the drive has to be locked when power is turned on. The Xbox imbedded software then unlocks the HD to access the data. If your HD is unlocked when power is applied, and you don't have modchip, you'll get an error message.

Is there something I'm missing?

well, thank u for your reply so fast. Here is whats happening, Yes my xbox is umodded, no modchip no anything. The eeprom.bin file that i'm talking about is from configmagic. I read somewhere where it said i would need a eeprom.bin file to unlock the HD when using xboxhdm. so i got configmagic and in the package was a eeprom.bin file so i was wondering if that could work.

in short terms.. isnt configmagic a unsiged code? yes it is . so do unsiged codes run on unmodded xbox? no they wont.....

u need ur eeprom from ur oem xbox so u can lock the new hd ....

on softmods its a MUST REQUIREMENT to lock hd .... on chips u dont need to lock hd ... of course ms dash wont load as well if dont lock hd....

so in other words ur gonna have to invest about 30 for auction replay max , no more then 15 for one of the exploitable games .... i got my 007 auf for 10 bucks total .... good luck... look @ my profile i put a 200gb! no chip just softmod.. BTW sid 4 good.... 4.5 for pal .....

The short answer is yes.

If your Xbox isn't chipped, you have to install a softmod to backup (save ) YOUR UNIQUE eeprom.bin. You then put YOUR UNIQUE eeprom.bin on the CD you're creating with XBOXHDM.

ok then thanks. All this time I thought that all i dedn't was to get a nw HD and build the partitions and put what needs to go in which partition and I should be set. Never knew that I still had to get access to the HD in my xbox. Thank you for your help so far. So what i need now is AID3(with SID3) and a game exploit and the game for that exploit. Also in terms of the memory card that is being talked about in saving the exploit to in something that I have to buy or is it built in?

Your best bet is the M$ memory card.

You''ll also need an Action Replay or Game Shark to tranfer the expoits from your PC to the mem card.

The info and instructions should be included in SID and/or AID.

Good Luck!

I didn't read too much into this thread, just skimmed the top. Here's my suggestion to make EVERYTHING a hell of a lot easier on yourself and so you don't have to worry about getting Action Replay.

Search the internet for the UXE xboxhdm softmod files for xboxhdm 1.9. This will then allow you to still put the required ms-dash files in, but it has some softmodding files ALREADY burned to the ISO. You can then softmod your xbox with that, AND if you don't like the basic evox dash it installs, you can then pop in AID 3 and install the dash of your choice. SOOOOOOO much easier than anything else. If you need an exact link to the package, I can try and find it but a google will work just as good.
