I just downloaded the auto installer. I've had a 250 GB Hd I've been trying to use for a few months now and haven't been able to get it to work. Luckily tha auto-installer comes with the bios's with the LBA48 support or whatever. Heres my problems. I used EVTool to check the M8 bios's to make sure they have the LBA thing and found 8 in total that say they do, according to EVTool. 2 in 256kb, 4 in 512kb and 2 in 1mb. These are only the M8 for the older X-Box. I've tried all 8 of them using the new installer to format and prepare and I still only get 137 GB. When I use the config magic it says that they don't support LBA 48. Does anyone know what the hell is going on?

The easy way to upgrade hardrive size is using: xboxhdm (which can be downloaded from this site).

You'll need to ftp on to your xbox and copy the entire contents of your c and e drive over to your pc. Then place them in the Linux c and e folders in xboxhdm. You'll need to copy your eeprom file from E: and paste it in the eeprom folder in your xboxhdm.

Make the cd\dvd as a boot disc and put that in the your computer along with the new hard drive as the master drive. Follow the instructions in the xboxhdm folder and you'll be set. It's really easy. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about any of this. I just did this a couple of weeks ago, so it's still pretty fresh in my memory.
