ok here's the deal, i first softmodded my box with ltools + ude install and PBL, everything went well ,installed XBMC on and some other stuff and then came across this site and the AID & SID tools and wanted a fresh install with said tools. I got SID put both install and game save on my action replay with M.A. backed up installed and now when it says needs to reboot to complete soft mod it reboots and the light stays red and the screen scrolls fuzz but at first you can make out the unleashx splash, you can hear the menu items scroll and everything but it just scrolls fuzz lines. i read in the FAQ on SID and it mentioned that you cant use NKNAVE on previously softmodded with PBL. is this my problem am I stuck with PBL now or is there a way to undo PBL. the FAQ doesnt really elaborate on what to do if this is the case. or is this a different sort of problem, and after i failed several times i restored my mod backup from before and it works fine but doesnt quite seem right(unleashx skins wont stick anymore) i want a fresh install of the latest AID-SID so can anyone suggest a proccess for me to acomplish this? any response would be much appreciated ,THANKS

Use AID 3.0 to format your HDD and install SID 4.5 (from the AID disk). _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!

will I format just the C: drive or C: & E: (can i delete C: & E drive also is there any specifics not to turn it into a paperweight? like dont shutdown untill ths AID disk is running after the format? just dont want to make any more problems

Sorry to see your in the WAY OUTDATED, OBSELETE research.
PBL is old, it's no longer used (only by a few)
lTools, is a Linux Installer for Softmods that stopped working for newer xbox versoins and that is very unstable.
UDE is old as well, but it's not that old, it's equivalent to SID 3 (IMO)
Use SID 4.5 for your softmod, and AID 3.0 for your Installer Disc, don't go with Slayers, it's old system. _________________ Xbox v1.1

thanks for the reply but what steps do i take to get the brand new install of SID & AID running correctly without the fuzz lines scroll thingy. keep in mind i want a completely new install, dont care to blow everything away, i also have a MS dash & eeprom backup on my PC.

I'll tell you the easiest way to do this.
-put SID 4.5 gamesave for game exploit in your xbox
-ftp your ms dash to E:\backup\MS\ (xboxdash.xbe will be here)
-boot your game of exploit, and boot SID 4.5 menu
-backup eeprom
-install softmod>boot>dash
-Note that if you want to install the Ndure Exploit that allows you to go on xbox live with open tray boot, you'll need ms dash 5960, while all other install methods will install flawlessly, regardless of your dash version. _________________ Xbox v1.1

thats what i did without the ftp part, what will this do? can i format everything and install fresh new copy of SID 4.5 . i want to start from scratch anyway and swap HDD's and then reload extras afterward

ok I took a 120 gig HDD and put the original retail MS dash on HDM and made the disk. put the disk in and all is well, i have a virgin XBOX so i try to go through the steps again and i get the exact same results with the softmod menu coming up but when i turn it on with the power button it boots the unleashx splash and right when it does the screen tweaks out and starts scrolling fuzzy lines ,and like before its running but the graphics are screwed.
i tried using the AID disk and using the tool for switching to PAL and then back to NTSC but all that did was make it nearly impossible to get back to the tool and switch it back due to all of the screens being scrolling fuzz, i could just barely make out what i was doing and seemed like i would have a seizure trying to read it all scrolling like that, so here i am stuck again ,PLEASE HELP ME
