yup.. my xbox learned a new trick... it plays the christmas lights now:)...sometimes when i turn it on, it restarts three times, then the led around the eject button flashes red and green. but when i turn the chip off, it boots just fine. also if i keep trying to turn it on with the chip on it eventually works... but after several trials sometimes.
thanx for the help;)

I don't know much about chips, but tell it what the error message is.... I'm sure you know this already, but I think its your chip ......

The chip went bad or theres a bad image from a flash. Check your connections on the chip and see if they are loose. _________________

Is the chip soldered or solderless mount?
If mount, open box and reseat the chip. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

3 reboot frag has one common cause , a bad install. On an Xecuter cip if the install is good then more than likely a flash has corrupted. When checking the instal concentrate on pins 7+. But the way you describe it I am pretty sure it is a bad flash. _________________ 1.6b, Xenium !ce OS 2.3.0, External 160g WD, External 250g Seagate, Double blade UFO Fan over Jewel

Since I wasn't discussing a bad stock box I didn't realize I would be tested. On a stock box it is usually the TSOP has become corrupt, eeprom should just flash red. I have fixed it a few times by using a good TSOP from a dead board an replacing the bad TSOP. I have also seen it happen from an incomplete trace off the LPC on pin 10 or 11. If it were a major hardware failure the LED would go solid red. _________________ 1.6b, Xenium !ce OS 2.3.0, External 160g WD, External 250g Seagate, Double blade UFO Fan over Jewel

k thnx a lot for ur help guys, i had a feeling it was the eeprom cuz of what i read.. it's either a broken connection to the chip, or the eeprom.. and since i never droped the xbox or hit it so it'd be physically damaged.. it might be the eeprom.. any chance u can tell me how to reset it or fix it? and will i be able to go on xbconnect/online after i do this?
Thnx.
