I chose the backup option using auto installer, and have tried to use xboxhdm to restore, however I obviously have not backed up the eeprom
Am I screwed?
I tried locking the hard drive again using one of my modded xboxs but obviously it doesnt work and just gives me error 06!
so I've unlocked it again!
Is there any way of modifying the retail bios on an unmodded xbox, it has been softmodded if thats relevant!

If you don't have the eeprom from the box the hdd belongs to, then you'll have to buy a modchip. There's no other way around it. If you are nervous about a chip install, I suggest the Xenium Ice. The solderless install takes less than 15 minutes. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

Agreed, that would be the best bet for recovery. Otherwise, it's become a paper weight. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

The spider chip should have a utility to read the eeprom from you xbox. Once your eeprom is loaded onto the chip, you can lock your hdd. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS

I have backed up my eeprom using slayers and have it on my pc, its def the hdkey for my OEM xbox hard drive too.
Only problem is how can I get the hdkey back onto the OEM hard drive?
My OEM hard drive is also displaying as 0mb in size - is it broken?
