I'm new to autosinstallers but AID2.11 and Slayers2.6 seem to be the most used ones. Is one considered hands above the other and why, or are they both considered equals. I'm lost here. My box is stock with a DuoX2 modchip. Thanks

By far the AID is better just for a few reasons
1.the free roam that you have with it like.
AID Format what you want when you want
SLAYERS all or nothing
2.many dashbords
AID like 7 diff. ones
SLAYERS 1
3.apps more or less the same
4.AID has SID on it
AID is just the way to go because its user friendly
and I swear by it!
Hope this helped

Although I haven't used Slayer's Disc, I can tell you that AID is all that your going to need.
I also have a Duo-X2 chip and I used AID 2.11 to install a new hard
drive, Dashboard, Emulators, Programs...Basically everything that I need to fully enjoy the Xbox's capabilities.
Try it out I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
P.S. DJB will soon release AID 3.0(keeps fingers crossed), which will be the end of all other installer Discs! (Am I Right?) _________________ Xbox v1.0a

Thanks for the comment gentleman. It seems like every forum has their fav installer but I have not heard anything bad about either one except slayers is old.
I want to install Evox dashboard on my Xbox from AID. Should I boot to disc with modchip enabled or disabled. I'm guessing enabled or it won't be able to read the disk. Does AID come with the latest and greatest version Of Evox Dashboard V 3935 I believe?
I tried to get the latest Bios for my DuoX2 V1.4 Xbox at xbins but I'm confused the files names all have the X2_4981 but seem to be slightly different file names. What is the exact file name I need from xbins for my Bios? Would this bios already be on the AID disk?

Ok I used AIDV2.11 installer to install the latest Evox dash. It asked me where to install it and I chose "E drive on a retail HDD" as was the menu option. I read somewhere you usually install to the E drive I hope that was right. Problem is now when I boot the Xbox it still comes up with the original microsoft dash when the chip is enabled. If I use the AID disk to boot and select "boot dashboard" it will work. I know I'm missing something here very simple but I don't know what it is. how do I boot to the Evox dash without using the AID disk? Did I install to the wrong drive?
Feeling very humbled right now.....lol

normal place to install a dash is C
that's why it boots ms-dash atm
reinstall the dash to C and it will work _________________
Thanks Pirrup I guess the only way to learn is to make a few mistakes.....so I should be brilliant soon at the rate I'm going
. ....That brings up another question. If you have several dashboards and you want to be able to switch between them....how is that accomplished?
