I recently softmodded my xbox v1.6 and added a 250 HD. everything works fine. However last night when I tried to back up some of my games to the HD.. They dont' run.. All I'm getting its a blank screen. After searching and reading, it seems like some games needed a PPF patch/HHD Fix.. However i read that if i use DVD2Xbox to copy the games directly from the DVD to the HD.. it should work.
Followed the instructions but I'm still getting a blank screen. Any suggestions??
Fyi according to Dvd2xbox all the files were copied.
Games I have tried..
Forza Motorsport.

Hi,
Your logic about DVD2XBOX is sound...however, let me ask you this: this is occuring AFTER you upgraded your HDD? If so, browse to your E:\cache folder and delete the 2 files in there. Then reboot and give it another shot.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm using verison .72 and I'm trying this after the HD upgrade.
Hmm. would I need to backup the Cache files before I remove them.? Also there are more than 2 files.

You dont need to back up your cache, after softmodding generally you need to clear your cache or adding programs, I always clear the cache after updating or installing a program on my xbox. _________________

No go guys.. I have cleared the cache. and backed up Forza using Dvd2xbox v.72.. still get a black screen. Again, no errors indicated by dvd2xbox. all files were copied..
I read in in the DVD forum. that I should also try clearing drives X, Y & Z? is that true? Also what are those files in X Y & Z drives..? _________________ XBOX v1.6:

what partition are you backing them up to?. do not back up games to the E drive, it contains all the saved games and other files and games tend not to run when backed up to the E drive. If you have created an F partition back them up to F:/Games and they should work fine. if you have already done this then i dont know your problem. sorry

i have been backing up to the F drive. Would it make a difference if i backed it up to G? Maybe i'll give that a try.. I have no idea why this is not working.. _________________ XBOX v1.6:

Used Complex tools.. Still black screen occurs when I run the game... Is it Forza?? or is it me? Am I doing something wrong..?

Sorry 2 say man but its forza yea i know this sucks ... but ill get it and see what hapens on my xbox.. ( some guy post an issue about call of duty 2 the big red one but i cant find my post anymore.. as i told him i would let him know .. ) but yea as that has notoin 2 do with this ...
If original works on xbox then try doin a dvd or any readable media and see if it wil play the disc.. and write the info . meanwhile ill get forza 2morow and let u know on results as well.. well good luck. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

Fyi, I tried Forza again tonight still no go. a good sign is that Topspin worked fine. Last time I tried (without clearing CACHE first) either games worked.. Now I can pin point to say that it's Forza.. and not my xbox... _________________ XBOX v1.6:

I havn't gotten forza today but try gettin english man pal switch that is thing i can think of... its on nknaves new xed (xbox enhance disc) its located here in hq ..

Can you elaborate on the switch ? I have Knaves Xed. I'm not sure what needs to be done..
My xbox is a NTSC version .

umm once u have that app instaled lauch it and u onlly see 2 options b - ntsc a- pal what i did i just click on b and my xbox is ntsc normaly so aftrer i did that i just went back 2 dvd2xbox and game manager and lauch the game from there.. if taht doesnt work then do this
run english switch then press pal then igr ( in game reset ) l r black start then try game then go back engish siwthc then ntsc and igr then ur should be good. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
