Ive just installed a doux 2 into a v1.6 xbox, and im having no joy whatsoever.
With thw chip disabled, the box works fine. If i try to enable the chip, the box tries to turn on 3 times, then just gives up.
Ive tested all the solder points, and i think theyre ok.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Does anyone know what the problem is??
Ive fitted a duo x 2 to a v1.6 before with no bother, and also to a v1.3, again with no problems.
Thanks in advance people!!

Yeah, by hand.
I got the rebuild bit with the chip, but decided to do it myself.

Well yeah, kinda thought that to be honest. Will have another fiddle.
What chance of the chip bein faulty?
Or what difference does the alternative memory bank make?

the chip has 2 banks, both should have cromwel bios on it , no difference which one you pick ,
chip could be bad , but its prabably not the chip ,
did you solder the d0 wire to the chip? _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

I'm having the same problem with an X3 chip on a 1.6. I used the PCB Rebuild board and the machine works fine with the chip disabled. All the latest Xecuter BIOS's give me problems, a couple exibiting your exact symptoms. I went back to the X3 2914 version (about six or seven versions back) and it works fine.
I've been able to load various dashboards, emulators, etc. I am not able to save settings to the chip, but can do everything else I want to do with the machine. _________________ Halo Edition XBox 360 + Todd McFarlane Controllers

actually bios bank does matter, only 1 of those is 1.6 comaptible while the other is not, and it's not garanteed that it works on 1.6+
like 1.6b, c, d, 1.7, so only if your 1.6(period) it will work. _________________ Xbox v1.1

Ok, i didnt know there were versions after the 1.6 a and b.
Are there alternative fitting guides for these versions?
All i want to do with it is play backups at the moment, not really bothered with dashboards and the like for now. Do you know for definite which bios bank is the one to use?
Would you advise using the Rebuild board, or just some custom wiring?

if you have the blue duo and you know it came with preflashed evox bios then you need to use bank 1 ,if its not preflashed you can use either bank
if you have the white duo you can use bank0 for v1.0-1.6,
the only thing bank 1 adds is comatibility with v1.6b , so if you dont have 1.6b you can use either bank ,

There you go, an answer from a more experience chip person _________________ Xbox v1.1
