I heard that the xbox HD is 8 GB? Thats enough for me, Both halos should fit and my music too, so i dont want to upgrade the HD.
I know alot about computers, a lil about my BIOS settings, but enough that i wont fry my system.
What dashboards or Operating Systems are the best with keeping these variables in mind:
1. Rip Halo, Halo 2 onto HD
2. Simplicity
3. Music, Movies
I did use Live Update and can go on Live now, But that shouldn't matter right? I could also care less about live my 2 month card is almost done neway....

If you softmod you will have to undo the softmod whenever you want to play on live. For backing up games to your HDD, you'll want to use Dvd2Xbox v0.7.2. For Dashboard, just use EvoX until you get the hang of things. For Halo and Halo 2, they both won't completely fit. You will have to omit some .bik video files and maybe a campaign map or two, since you said you wanted music collection on there too. Don't forget that you'll need to cram Xbox Media Center in too. You're better off just upgrading the HDD, since you said you're done with live anyway. Awww, Halo and Halo 2 won't fit? I thought they are like 3 GB Each and i have 750 MB of music and could take out the videos, so thats 1.25 GB for the OS and whatnot, right?
OR
Here are the things that are in priority:
Evox
Halo 2
Music
Halo-------Can be taken out
Videos-----Can be taken out
So that would be like 7.25 GB out of 8 GB for Halo 2 and OS, That should be enough
Also do i have to put Evox in a special folder or no?
Is there a installer for Evox?
The DVD2XBOX application needs to be on the xbox and will work with Evox right?
How would i execute or run DVD2XBOX application?
Do I need to format the xbox hard drive in windows or could i just make windows delete the original xbox OS files and replace them with Evox?
Does Evox installer require the original dashboard to run?
Will i still be able to use Xbox Connect, or do they check up on my xbox settings and say "OMFG SOFTMOD! HE SO HAX!!!! TELL M1CROZOFT!!!"

Found out on a P2P program (Shareaza) that Halo was 3 GB, Halo 2 was 4 GB, I found a evox that was 230 MB but that problaby was compressed so i could omit some music and videos.... O well

You will still be able to use XBC and XLink Kai. You would run Dvd2Xbox by launching the XBE file. XBE files are like EXE files but for the Xbox. I suggest reading up on as much Xbox modding material as you can find. You've got a lot to learn, and this is a great place to do it. Yeah, but there's actually 6 case screws. There's 2 more hidden under the stickers. You'll need a T10 torx bit for them. A T20 torx bit will be needed as well, if you plan on removing the drives. Sometimes DVD2XBOX dont work for me, so i FTP'd h2 out of my D drive (dvd drive) and created a folder in my E and named it games. And drug h2 in it. BTW, ive got both h2 and h1 on HDD (stock) Just take out the Campiagn maps if you dont want them. and if your REAL pressed for space, take out the BINK folder.

If your going to softmod, alot of the Autoinstallers have EVOX, and UNLEASHX preloaded, you can choose which you want.

all you want to do is ok, except saving both halo games in there.
reasons.
xbox hdd is 8 to 10 gig stock.
if you have an 8 gig, these are your partitions and sizes.
C:\ somewhat 550 megs. not sure
D:\ that's dvd rom, and nothing else.
E:\ somewhat 4.8 gigs, and its where your gamesaves and ripped music is.
X:\ 748 mb. Not usable, cache drive, all files get deleted within time.
Y:\ same as X.
Z:\ same as X and Y, not merged, same 748mb size.
so as you can see you only reall have 4.8 gigs, for your stuff. and halo 1 is nearly 4 gigs, and halo 2 is almost 5........think about it.
now if you have a 10 gigs, this is the same as above, except you'll have an unformatted partition, that's less than 2 gigs, almost 2 gigs, but not quite.
In other words, you can't do it all the way you want it like, cause of the limited space on E, and possibly F if you got a 10 gig.
But you can also make your self some halo backups on DVD-R, and use it that way. _________________ Xbox v1.1

When I hotswapped Hdd to softmod it, I used HDM 1.9 and the UDE 2 exploit for HDM that I downloaded from XBINS. Then I used the AID 2.11final .iso (Thanx DJB!!!) that I Torrented from mininova to redo everything. (I know it sounds repetitive, because It Is!)
But if you have a DVD drive that works right, you can just do the "Game Save Exploit" with an ActionReplay and SID 4.0(Reccomended). Then you can run the AID 2.11 disk to get everything else that you are looking for, except for the space to save both Halo's game. You could get a 20 GB Hdd for that to work)
BTW: If anyone knows a way that is a better fit for this guy, please post it. _________________ I think I like fixing Boxes more than using them!
