Yeah,
i guess i havent quite sticked to my word of- updateing a news story once every day- i've been busy trying to get things in tune with school.
Why? Beacuse i WANT TO MAKE VIDEO GAMES!!!
Im sure were all prepared for the 360 luanch. Even, who am a third key at the Soft wear ETC. here cannot get one (were only getting 26 units in on luanch night.) So im going to go camp out side Target- since there not running there store untill 7:00 AM, and since i have to work the mid-night release and cant make it to wal-mart, that will have to do.
We switched from learning programming for current gen console (Which out Prof swears is dead.) To moving onto the next one. ALTHOUGH our final will be creating a 2 level game on our choice system (most people are doing PC since its easier, and no one except ME has acess to a makeshift DEbug kit) my group- is going to be doing a console game, if you havent guess the platform, type www.xbox-hq.com in your browser and see what you get.
I remember back when we all thought the xbox 360's hard drive would run backwards-just to let you guys know- bull shit.
HOw would little old me know this?
Im already neck deep in learning Visual Studio, it's hard. Programming for a 360 (which im not doing yet, we just learning programing interface (which is different from the orig. Xbox) It's more like runnign code on a Mac (prob. beacuse of multi-threading processers.)
We almost crashed one of our G5 running all 3 processors on this "infinate" Threading protocol a friend here designed (NOTE: NOT XBOX 360 CODE! just a word of mouth, you cant programm for it outside a windows enviroment,). He is also our local warDriver (you have to pay an extra $50 a month to use the school's network)
Anyway- im working on a revision of Evox that i THINK will run on the new processor. Why? Beacuse we need modded xbox 360's DAMN IT! Im sure with the next gen we will be able to emulate our current gen games( dont bealive me? just laugh your ass off know!)
as for the 20 gig hard dirve limit. Im sure someone will work a Hard-hack to let you hook up a SATA hard drive right into the system.
This would be beautiful.
GOing back to the Evox thing though. I dont know if it would work, I bascily re-wrote it into a multi-processor app (still some bugs. )
ANyone intrested in source code? Well no, i wont give it to you- why? You might hinder my progress. The only ppl who will have acess to it would be our sites Admins (I know these guys wont post such things.) and thats only if they want it.
And before i go let me say big-endian format sucks (To time consumeing, but im getting faster) and XACT sucks (i dont like f-ing with audio anyways, i dont have an ear for it, i passed the XACt test with a A on the written part, but on the lab test i got a C, err 70 points,. Hehehe....he.

Great news on you doing the xbox programming.. I remember you saying something about that before and was already jealous..

it good to see things havent changed.
Thanks for changeing the post to mod's and admins only- i guess i can post the source for what im working on.
I wont be able to run the code untill early feb.- thats when we expect to get Dev. kits for 'education" Purpose's.
Im glad to report- but i think our site will be one of the first to run the Tux symbol on start up. Im not just hypeing.
Here is the deal though- listen up.
I need to use a public computer, i SERIOUSLY think M$ is on to me- lol.
I know its crazy but it's true.
We have to sign an NDA prior to the dev kits. Why? so we dont leak any shit.
Im going to say now- once we get those systmes im going to leak shit to hobbs as much as i can. Why? I love xbox- i feel M$ is trying to take away our freedoms, and curisioty.
It takes a certain passion to engineer something, but it takes a greater pasison when you know NOTHING of it- and you feel the need to reverse engineer it, in order to expliot it's true power- and it's that love for the game, that gives you more knowledge than the original creators.
When i get to school tomarrow- sometime, i'll post the source code here for my evolved EVox (or EVOXe) Who is the orig. Creator of Evox- i need to talk to them about some of there coding. And do you think it would be safe to conact them? Would they rat me out?

Why tomarrow and not now? i dont have visual studio on my FUBAR mac, i worked the code mostly on school time.
I havent ran it- but im thinking about TRYING to run it on an xbox- how?
There is a way to convrt big-endian into little-endian WITHOUT haveing to re-compile the code. There is a Multi-boot threading command that could actully use Direct X 9 to trick the Xbox into running code on multiple partions- kind of "simulating" a multi-core processor.
This is all speculation- i've been talking to some friends about it, and why not? THe ONLY thing, its not possible with a normal xbox- so were saving for a DREAM x.

Gasp! Oh now what would make you think I'd say anything regarding your complete inability to properly place alphabetical letters in their respective locations in order to complete a word using the kings english?
