I Have a chipped xbox and the files on the c: drive where delete. Now the xbox dosnt work. Is there a auto-installer i can download and burn onto a cd-rw? I'm really bad at this stuff so any help would be great, thanks.

Well I downloaded that, burned it to a cd_rw and put it in my xbox. Still get the xbox needs service screen.

Would be brighter to boot with a DVD than a CD. Some Xbox DVDRom have problems reading CD's.

Ok, let's start from the beginning.
What chip u have ? Maybe if u flash the bios with a newer version might make the xbox boot, and then u can use the AID dvd to set things up !

alright i bought it modded off sell.com and i contacted the guy i bought it from and asked him what kind of chip it was. I'll get back when i find that out.

Then i have a bad news. If all file on your C drive are deleted and you don't have a backup on your PC, then all you can do, is do a hotswap to get MS Dashboard again and have your xbox re-softmoded.

yes if you have no eeperom back up your going to have to use pirrups hotswap to reformat your hard drive with xboxhdm (found in the usual places).
this is because you need to unlock you hard drive with an eeperom back up. but if you dont have this you have to rely on your xbox to unlock it on boot up.
find pirrup on this forum and contact him or find one of his posts his c drive back up and link to his tutorial is in his signature.
the tutorial talks you through a full xbox reformat

if it was advertised as a modchip, make them refund or fix it since you didn't get what you paid for.
