As far as I know SID3 uses nkpatcher7 for patching the kernel, which is very nice, but apparently v8 of nkpatcher carries a feature with it that would allow you to run games still in iso format from the Xbox HD (by using attach.xbe).
Since there have been some new games which seem to be unable to run from HDD and havent been patched yet, this would come as a sweet solution.
So my questions are:
- Do I need nkpatcher8 to use the attach.xbe?
- If so, how would I go about updating it?
For references: Im testing it on a system which is softmodded with SID3 (and set up with AID 2.11).
thanx alot guys for your help!

Yes, NKpatcher needs to be compiled specifically to be able to do this. Version 10 still supports the ISO mode.
One reason why I probably would not bother with it though is because you have to remember some games will go over the 4 gig file limit, even though you will find a big portion of your games will be fine.

Could you go more into detail about recompiling nkpatcher and about what I have to change in order for it to update, since installing it is only supposed to work with an untouched bios.
I'd be very grateful for more info on this.
As for the 4 GB file limit: True, I cant upload any isos bigger than that, but I can split them into two files which attach.xbe will link together automatically if they are in the same dir. And as you said, few games are actually breaking the 4 GB limit.
I really want to get this to work, just spend 30 minutes (!!) extracting and ftping a game to the Xbox HDD, with thousands of small files its really a time waster, not to speak of the HDD fragmentation... and as far as I know there is no defrag tool for the xbox out there (or is there?).
