I have upgraded my Xbox with the Softmod. I am now trying to upgrade the hard drive. I am using the PC option to do this with XBOXHD tools. I am running into a problem trying to lock the drive. HD Tools can not seem to find or read my eeprom.bin file which is placed in the eeprom folder. I have also put it on a floppy and have it search the floppy and it does not recognize it there either.
I am using config Magic to create the backup eeprom file. I am copying this file to the XBOXHD Tools CD I create. Again in the eeprom folder.
It would appear that the eeprom file created by Config Majic is not what HD Tools is looking for.
I am at a loss as to what to do next. Is there another method for creating the eeprom file?
Any suggestions would be appreciatted.

Hi bobsilver,
Sorry it took so long to get a reply mate.. Ive been sick and must have missed your topic there.. Lets see if we can help you eh..
Try install EVOX as a Application then choose the backup option from the menu.. It will create a new backup of the eeprom and other info to your xbox C:\BACKUP directory..
Just backup those files again.
Then try again.
Also i would suggest following one of pirrups tutorial on HQ if you arent already. .Pirrup is one of our highly respected admins here and has written plenty of tutorials to help you all.

And don't forget about this link.
Since you have the HDD in your posession, check it with that tool. Just follow the instructions in my post to see if it supports ATA security, which is what you need to lock the drive down. _________________ XBOX V 1.0 (softmod)
