Posted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 4:04 pm Post subject: I can't get the Splinter Cell installer to load.
I had softmoded my xbox earlier using splinter cell and I managed to corrupt my dashboard. I was able to get back into the HDD using the hotswap method and xboxhdm. I did get the orriginal M$dash reinstalled and I'm able to boot and play games again. I decided to give softmodding a try again so I got SID 2.0 and put the Splinter Cell game saves on my Action Replay and plug it into controler and copy them to my XBOX HDD (making sure they are the only Splinter Cell game saves. So far so good... Well here's where the problem starts. When I boot my XBOX to splinter cell and load the Linux profile I get a black screen, but it never goes to the next screen to allow me to install EvoX. After I read a few post here I pulled my HDD and used xboxhdm to remove all the files on C: and E: and then rebuilt C: (Thinking a clean slate might help).... No dice... I am still having the same problem. I did verify that I am using a orriginal copy of Splinter Cell. I'm at wit's end here please help... BTW my XBOX version is 1.4 and the MSDash is current.

i would say you need to buy a chip and from there make a aid disk which you can get from here just download aid andread the tutorial thats on the site on how to burn it to a cd-rw or dvd heres the aid link http://aid.xbox-hq.com/
But if you can still hotswap your hdd reinstall m$dash if that doesnt work then reply and i will further help you. _________________

I found the problem. (It was a stuipd oversight on my part) I was loading the game saves to a Action Replay... I switched to a "official" M$ memory cart and was able to get the installer to run no problem.

I had the 'black screen' thing on one of my xboxes.
It played original and backup discs with no modchip or softmod.
Tried to do a softmod with SC & SID 3.0 /AID 2.11 FINAL and couldn't get any further than loading the LINUX profile.
After posting on here it looks as if it had a TSOP flash - still no idea why it wouldn't load.
The memory card was an 'interact' make and I have used it with the same SC saves since and it is fine............
Dunno why it wouldn't load the LINUX - Does the TSOP flash prevent the LINUX profile loading ?
