I have tried everyway to put these files but I have no idea what is the correct way. This is my setup so far:

F/Emulators/MAMEdOX/roms/area51.zip

and

F/Emulators/MAMEdOX/roms/area51/area51.chd

what am I doing wrong???

You probably just dont have the correct ROMSET needed for the version of MAME you are running.

If you look into it you will find there are different versions of roms..
You need the correct version of the rom for each mame version.

Most of the old roms like pacman never change so you don tneed to worry to much about the older stuff only new.

I got it to work. What you do is put the ".zip" file in the ROMS folder and put the ".chd" file in the HDIMAGE folder. But I found out that most games run VERY slow or the memory runs out.
