Every thing works fine on my MS dash, except for my network settings option , everytime i go into it, it loads( with that little circle spinning ) and then stops. I've heard people talking about this problem when they upgrade thier HD. Also when i FTP over my UDATA, and TDATA onto my computer to back them up, some files failed to transfer. I use FLASH FXP to FTP. Can some on help. Thanks

with a softmod installed im not exactly positive but i thought DJB disabled the XBOX LIVE features.. That may be why you cant get to the NETWORK tab in the Official M$ Dash.. So you dont get banned.
You have to remove the softmod by reverting to the backup and then you should be able to use it again perfectly.
I remember djb mentioning something to me one day.. Sorry.. Im a modchip man more myself.. But i believe that would be a close answer..
Apart from that you could try reinstalling the softmodding M$ dashboard..
another softmodding member will comment im sure too.

OK.. Like everyone says you don't use your MS Dash to FTP your Files, you need a hacked dash such as Evox, UnleashX, or Xbox Media Center for this.
