Post subject: Changing XBMC resolution from FTP???

One thing I've been wondering, is how to change the "resolution" from an FTP log in on XBMC (not sure if this is a Project Mayhem only setting, as that is the only skin I run). Basically, my problem is that I routinely move my XBox between my 720p capable 30" LCD display in my arcade machine cabinet, out to my living room 55" HDTV (which only has support for 480p and 1080i). Well, when on my LCD, I like having the "16x9 720p" setup in XBMC. But that gives me a nasty rat-nest yarn ball of RGB squiggilies on my 55" Mitsu (and no hope of navigating the menus to turn it back to a 16x9 480p setting). Normally, I remember to change this before powering off the box on the LCD and moving to the living room TV, but if I forget, it would sure be nice to know if there was a INI file that contained this that I could remote FTP/change. So far, I haven't found the entry (it isn't in the XboxMediaCenter.XML file that I can see)...

TIA,

-Jhondra

interesting.. I myself have only just gotten a HDTV of my own and HD cables for my projector too.. So until i play a bit more i cant really help much.

Anyway, why i replyed.. Im going to move this to the AUDO VIDEO FORUMS here on HQ.. Hopefully some other HDTV users may have some more info.

Have you looked at the XBMC xboxmediacenter.xml file??
Have a browse through that file.. It may have some options that you are looking for..

cheers,

FH

Thanks, FAH. I have been over the XboxMediaCenter.XML file (and the documentation that covers what all can be in there). AFAIKT, the video resolution is more of a SKIN feature than an XBMC setup feature. At least I've not found it doing recursive regular expression searches or anything through the XBMC directories...sigh. No big deal, I just would like to know if possible...
