Well i have spend yesterday trying to upgrade my xbox hdd with no luck and i need you pro knowledge to get this thing to work.

Here's where i am at.

I used the tutorial provided with aid 2.0 deluxe on how to upgrade the xbox hdd.

For the eeprom backup i used configmagic.

Unpacked xboxhdm 1.9

Made a copy of c:\ and E:\ to pc and then to the proper folders of xboxhdm

Then i used the eeprom backup i made with configmagic that was located in E:\ and put it on the xboxhdm eeprom folder

Next i made the linux.iso

All was well, disconnected all HDD from pc and put the xbox replacement driver (Maxtor 120gig) as primary.

Loaded up and prepared the drive.

Now for the HD look i followed the steps lockhd -a then shit started

eeprom NOT FOUND

The eeprom IS IN THE ISO IN THE RIGHT FOLDER.

Any ideas in what i did wrong????

Help is really apreciated, i spend yesterday all freakin day trying to make this thing work... HEEEEEEELLLPPP!!!!

BTW today im gonna try and put the eeprom backup on a floppy and see if i can make it work. The drive is lockable as i was able to lock and unlock it using the password given in the eeprom backup, this was done manually, meaning i used my stock xbox hdd to see it. When i was able to lock the hdd this way and put it on the xbox it didnt work, gave me the "please repair bla bla xbox"

Sounds like you are attempting to softmod? I'm not an expert at softmodding but I want to be clear as to whether you are using a chip or not.

I used this tutorial http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-153.html

But im getting eeprom not found when i try to lock the HDD, but the eeprom is in the right folder when i made the iso.

BTW i have seen this error in other sites but no one was able to anwser it. The only thing i did different from the tutorial was backup the eeprom with configmagic and NOT with evox. Will this be the problem?

I think i might have found the problem, if you make the eeprom backup with configmagic when you send it to the xboxhdm eeprom folder you have rename it = eeprom.backup.bin change to eeprom.bin. I will try this today and report my findings.

I used configmagic to backup my eeprom. I worked fine. I even tried a generic eeprom and it loaded that too. I'm at a loss Confused

Was it named eeprom.bin or eeprom.backup.bin when you made linux.iso?

I have the file named eeprom.bin, and in the Eeprom folder. i made 4 discs for my box, and finally the 4th one worked.

now im working on my friends box, and i make the EXACT same disk, using his eeprom from config magic. only 11 coasters later, i cant get any of the disks to work. I can accually use the cd that worked for mine, only that would have the wrong eeprom. i even tried different combo's of caps/ no caps for case sensitivity reasons. i have no clue whats wrong, but it cant fint eepromany advice would be great, or if someone knows what the linux path is, so i can use option 2 ( type path to eeprom)

we accually using config magic from autoinstaller dlx 2. make an eeprom file fine, just for some reason woundt work on all but one disc, and all we really changed.

We accually got one of the boxes working, by maually changing the settings (hd key, etc) with config magic from the stock XB HD we had loaded unleashedx on.

So Final result was accually box with 100gb maxtor, and a box with a 100 gb maxtor, and 2 stock drives with the correct eeprom

i'd just like to get the cd issue workin, mainly for backup, and also for if i do another friends box.
