To all the newbies,

Please remember you need to have your xbox softmodded or modchipped before the Auto Installer Deluxe .iso will work on your xbox..

If you are looking into softmodding I would suggest using SID3 as there are many tutorial to follow on XBOXHQ about how to softmod your xbox using SID3... I myself have softmodded around 6 xboxes and nearly one of every version..

Heres some links to softmod install tutorials:

Quick and Easy Softmod using SID3:
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-171.html

SoftModding the Xbox in 10 Minutes Using SID3:
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-183.html

Once you have your xbox softmodded or a modchip fitted you can then use the Auto Installer Deluxe disc in your xbox.

Just remember once you download AIdeluxe you need to have the latest version of WINRAR installed onto your pc.. Winrar is used to extract everything you need from inside of the .RAR files you have downloaded. You can download the latest trial version from http://www.winrar.com if you dont have it.

How to burn AIdeluxe to DVD-R
1. Download AIDeluxe.RAR files.
2. Right Click the first AIDeluxe.RAR file and choose 'extract' from the options
3. It will now ask you where you want to extract to.. Choose a directory on your pc that you will remember
4. When its finished extracting you should navigate to the newly created folder with the AIDeluxe files in it.
5. In the AIDeluxe unextracted foler you will find a file 'AIDeluxe.iso' or somehting simlar.. This is the file you must burn to CDRW or DVD-R and boot in your xbox.
6. I suggest burning the .iso file to DVD-R rather then cdrw.. Use DVD-Decrypter or Nero to burn it..

Thats about it. Once its finished burning you can use AIdeluxe with your softmodded or modchipped xbox and install from over 60+ dashbords, apps and emulators etc etc.

SOFMOD TIPS WITH AIDELUXE:
- Whenever you need to install a new dashboard on a SOFTMODDED machine you must choose to install the dashboards from the 'SOFTMODS SECTION' only.. Otherwise it will overwrite your files with non-softmodded files..

The 'Install Dashboards' feature in the main /root/ AID menu is for modchip users only

hope that helps you all

FH

hi bigjohnnyauk..

Yes you could burn some roms to a dvd-r and then use boxexplorer or other xbox dashboards to copy the files from the D:\ (XBOX DVDROM) drive to your xbox hdd.

But really, If you can try and get it connected to a pc.. then you can just dump stuff over quickly without having to burn rom dvd's all the time..

hope that helps

yes and don't forget to give credit to djb when you write tutorial .

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted, but yes, I gave the proper credit (even w/o seeing this post). Anyways, if DJB would like to see the tutorial still, I can send you a pm.

And about it being "too technical", I'm not a "noob" to this stuff, I just felt that some of the parts were unclear, thats all. Nothing to do w/ technicality.

Hi guys, I too am having problems with AID2.11 Final.

xbox v1 i think.
chipped Xbox. XECUTER2
BIOS: No idea.

Sittuation:

I have the Xbox with a chip, and the default 8gb hdd.
I've bought a 120GB Seagate 7200RPM, 8MB Cache, and have decided to use it for the XBOX.

I have taken old 8GB HDD out put in the 120GB.

I have downloaded AID2.11F and burned correctly with DVD Decrypter at 2X. The CD Boots but the problem...

The problem:
Auto Installer Delux 2.11 Final boots but when the UnleasedX logo comes up, for 1 sec later it goes to black a screen [probably restarts], and it keeps repeating over and over.

If i disconnect the HDD and turn on the Xbox I get an error 13. [Couldn't load dashboard or something].

How can i format the HDD clean and try again? I think that there are some partitions already on the HDD.

I need help and im currently in Live Chat under VIP Main Arena.

Thanks in advance.

Kepps repeating over and over?

Hm, sounds like one of three things possibly:

1) Try giving the Lens on your DVD Drive a clean, it may be dirty
2) The disc didn't burn properly. Maybe trying another media or even the painful 1x may help
3) Your BIOS. Maybe you could have a 1.6 BIOS on there instead of a normal one. Since you don't know what's on there it doesn't really help.

There's my two cents anyways, dunno if that helps or not but hopefully someone else can lend a hand...

Really appriciate your quick response.

I am sorry that I couldn't provide you with the BIOS type and/or version of it.

I know nuthing on the bios flashing and a like...

If you could instruct me on how to find this information I could do so, and report back to you what I find.

I have tried another DVD-R and hope that will do the trick.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks DJB.

EDIT: I have tried inserting the AID into the default xbox 8GB HDD. The AID loads and my screen turns Black. I have left it for 5 mins or so and the screen doesn't change it's black.

On the 8GB hdd I have EvolutionX Dashboard and everything on that HDD works with the Xbox.

I try to boot AID on the 120GB HDD. It boots and the first thing I see is a logo [ UnleasX ] then it dissapears after one second. Then it displays the Logo again and dissapears.

I have tried several Media [disks] From CD's to DVD's. Only DVD's that could NOT be read by this Samsung DVD-ROM was the DVD+R, and DVD+RW.

Question

EDIT: WOW, Ok tried a random 8.4gb HDD that I have Linux on. I have never used this HDD in the xbox before, so this would be the first TIME...

Inserted HDD, Booted AID. BANG! First time works perfect. I get a blue screen stating that the UnleaseX has detected a New HDD etc.. ready for Format.

Also I have talked to my brother and it seems that he was fooling around with the AID boot disk and the 120GB HDD already?!!! Ok he told me that he also got this blue screen and formatted the HDD. UnleaseX worked perfectly fine but said that there wern't any applications with the Install so he wanted to re-do the format and install again.

He said that he deleted some files so that the HDD wouldn't load, and wanted the AID Boot disk to re-format the HDD.

Ok now I now why the Unlease X isn't saying New HDD found etc..

OK so now I know what the problem is. Can someone tell me how to [format] the HDD so that the AID can detect the HDD as a new HDD again..

Question

you can choose to format each partition manually by using the menu options.
You really have no need to format the entire thing again as AID is very tidy and will overwrite older files..

l8r and enjoy HQ

glad you got it sorted..

Ahh yes, it works fine on the random 8gb, but i am still having the problem same problem on the 120gb...

Not resolved quite yet, but i am getting somewhere.

Update: To make thnings clearer on what the main problem is now at this point. AID 2.11 wont boot correctly on the 120GB HDD which i want to use.

Media is fine, XBOX it self is fine. AID works on a random8.4gb hdd not the 8gb default xbox hdd.

I need to get AID to recognise the 120GB HDD as [ NEW ] on boot. In order for AID to install / format the HDD correctly.

EDIT: DJB I have found a bit of info on the BIOS. "sorta"...

Bios Version: Unknown
Kernel Version 1.00.4977.01
Xbox Hardware Info: 00000002 A3 D4

I don't know why it says Unknown in the bios version.

When I browse the files copied ,all it copied were the ini files in the language folder in the Media folder, apod.jpg in the medis folder and avalaucnh.xml in the root and it fails at turkish.ini in avalaunch because I see it being copied(with a square rplaceing a leter in turkish) but it doesn't gdet copied.

I just wish to add that I too am getting the same error:
-AvaLaunch install from the 2.11 disc fails with the attempt to copy at t<square>rkish.ini, both as an application and as a full dashboard. In short, I can't install Avalaunch.

Is there a workaround, such as reading the AID disc in my PC, renaming or deleting the errant turkish.ini, and copying the Avalaunch files from my PC using Evox? Or perhaps getting into the AID disc through the XBOX and copying the files manually?

---MY SPECS---
v1.0 xbox
patched a nd-2510a (NEC) dvdrw drive temporarily
aladdin xt lite (4032)
all other hardware stock
---END SPECS---

I am a first time poster and a fresh modder, having just put in my chip myself and loaded softs, and while I could always download Avalaunch elsewhere, I found AID to be ridiculously simple, plus I have been unable to locate it by google or bittorrent, and I have not yet learned mirc or usenet. I would appreciate assistance regarding this issue, especially since I figure if one other person has the same problem, there'll likely be others as well.

Try to burn the disc at a slower speed, it might have not burned properly.

SO I have burned my AID dvd disk with Decrypter, Nero kept messing up. So the boot disk is ready and I have both Mechassault and Splinter disk to start modding. QUESTION...... when I look at the DVD boot disk with my computer I dont see any files but the disk has been burned and closed..... is this normal to not be able to view the ISOfile on the boot disk?

PC's can't read Xbox, so you won't show files.
