i wanted to know if the xbox can read a dule layer dvd r cus when i tryer to back up a game it ternrd out to be way bugger then a dvd r my game it got scrached when i let a frind barow it and now it gliches but when i riped it to the hdd it plays fine but not from the origenal i have a small but not stock hdd and whant to conserv on space so i wanted to know if the xbox reads dule layer dvd r and if so what kined works best i have a first gen xbox v1.0 tomson dvd drive

You may be able to get DVD-R dual layers to work, but the same rules apply as do single layer DVD-R: Use good media(I recommend memorex or ridata, personally) and burn at low speeds. You may want to find a place that will sell a single disc and buy that before ponying up for a stack of them.

The alternative is to reduce the size of the files to fit on a normal DVD-R

what i did.. since one of my games wer slightly to large,,, just remove the
msdash 5960 update file...its not neccessary for the game to work,
