For me it's a toss up between one and two. I like one because of the white background, but I really like the second one..

I really like number 2. It looks cool and it has plently of room for content.
Also where you see that master chief, you could put all of the active topics sort of like you do now.

WTF....i totally missed this post...well heres my input
1. very bright and easy on the eyes but not to "cool" looking...maybe it would be with the hq banners all over it and stuff though
2. pretty basic...not too bad though...might not need all of the different random stuff...dont know where a good place for ads would be
3. not too bad...similar to what we have now with all the stuff down one side and room for ads all around it
4. maybe a little too dark and busy
5. not too bad but we would have a ton of tabs running down the side
6. too dark...NO

I love template 5, but template 3 is hot as well... _________________
I like this one because it still has a gaming theme to it but it's brighter at the same time. Just an opinion though. I'm not sure how far your taking this site by means of content. Maybe for the VIP section you could link to another template, as in the top five you have listed, and keep this one simple.

the HQ theme we are running now is a merge of some of the best sites in the world.. I browsed the largest sites and got more features then most of them now.. lol
anyway, thanks for the feedback.. I ended up designing my own skins etc instead of having a site like someone elses..

Well,
I am a big fan of this website. I love everything there is offered. I love the community, and therefore, I'm going to make an offer. If the administrators are interested and the community is interested, I do web designs as sort of a side job with photoshop. I could take a day or two to make up something pretty nice for this site and post back a preview image to see what everyone thinks. Just let me know. (I'll probably go ahead and start working on something in the morning anyway, if no one wants my design on here, then I'll just end up using it for something else)

I have already gone to the effort to product what you see here.
It was inspired obviously by gamespot.com and their unbeliable presentation of the content..
We have so much content on HQ we had to look at how the worlds best do it anyway...
Im a web designer myself as im sure you can imagine and think it looks fine for now.. Its no where near finished but looks nice.
