Hi all, I have myself a XboX ver 1.3 and has a mod chip in it alladin something. I have a 250GB HDD and all working fine, i let a 15 year old solder the chip on it. But i have only 128Gb as my F drive, the bios it is using is Evox_m7 if i am right. I see a lott of talking about biosses and i want to know wich bios i can use for this mod. chip, or are biosses independant from the chips. If somebody can clear this up from me then i can try to flash it with a new one so i have also the G drive with the remaining HDD space.

You need to flash the chip with a different bios. With a hard drive as big as your the xbox only uses a small part of it, I can't remeber exactly. Unfortunatly I am not currenty at home. I'll post again when I am and let you know the exact bios you need to use. If you can't get hold of it I could email it to you but I don't know how big it is. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Check the bios section in VIP Downloads. Most likely you will need to get the latest Evox Bios. Most of the new bios have features in them now to help break the 127Gb barrier. Getting a new bios along with an updated dashboard will allow you to not only partition an F Drive but a G Drive as well. _________________ Halo SE Xbox

Alright I would suggest donwloading DJB's xbox-hq autinstaller for the VIP downloads section. It has a couple differnt bios in there and you get to pick which one it installs. Makes life very simple and that one you want should say installing larger HDD with G: or something along those lines.
Hope this helps. _________________ XBOX v1.0:

With all the positive reviews on DJB auto-installer, it makes me just want to update my xbox with it!!
I can't wait to use that installer. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I would agree. When I did my xbox I didn't have an auto installer and it was complicated to say the least. From everything I've heard it is good so I would suggest using that as it would be much easier than doing it manually. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

Okay, Guys, I downloaded and burned that iso, and flashed with the EvoxM7+G and works perfectly. Have my G drive and all the rest of the bytes i was missing. Again thank you all for the info and i have to say it was worth it to pay a small amount to become a VIP member.
If i run into new things i will post again.

Great to hear you got it to work.
If you wanted to know about the heat schmirk, I wanted to be on the safe side as I know they cause a lot of heat so I fitted a 20mm fan in one of the small squares under the drive. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

I've read some stuff on people adding fans when they put in a bigger HDD, a 120 GB is fine with out, but good to knwo that it helps.
How big is your HDD? and how hard was it to fit the fan? _________________ XBOX v1.0:

guys it works fine with this HDD, heating show no problem and the plastic frame is still not melted
It is a 7200 RPM with 8MB Cache
Before this i had the maxtor maxline II 300GB but this was a 5400RPM and 2 MB cache. Little bit slow.
