I used XP and I got to the menu but then a new problem happens for me, I don't know my xbox's password and therefore I can't unlock it. I don't have the eeprom.bin except on my xbox's hard drive and so I can't use it to set the password. What can I do now? Is there a global master password or can I access the eeprom from that menu off the xbox hard drive?
I would like to save this hard drive but should I just use a brand new hard drive and install it into my xbox? Will I still need the eeprom when I do the hotswap?

I did read your tutorial but I don't know how to unlock my hard drive without the eeprom, how can I unlock the hd if my eeprom is only on my xbox hard drive? Once I can unlock my xbox hard drive then I am clear to re-format the drive..
The cd-rom won't let me re-format the drive untill I can unlock it.

11. you will get a menu,now choose Option 1 (by typing ‘1’) and press enter to boot VGA console with xbox-drive utilities (default). Type ‘xboxhd’ when it asks you for a login.
did you try typing xboxhd?

I did type in the xboxhd and the next thing that pops up is a warning telling me that my hard drive is locked and it asks me whether or not to continue. When I say yes, a list of 8 options appears but I can't peform any option from 1-6, basically anything to do with clearing the hard drive.
Can I just install a new hard drive and use the hotswap to format it?

Ok, I got one more question!
Do I need to put on a masterpassword for this new formated hard drive? And if so where do I find the eeprom, was it deleted when I did the new format and do I need to make a new one using LiveInfo Beta 2?

congratulations!!!! and too answer the eeprom question, no iy was not deleted its on a chip in the xbox so i recommed you back iy up using config magic after you softmod it again and good luck. _________________ xbox v1.0
