I know i havent been on here much but i try 2 stop by when i can. Ive been real busy at work with the dead lines on these cars.
Anyways, I bought a xenium ice bout 2 weeks ago. i decided to install it this week since i had some free time. Well i cleaned the little d0 and the place where the solderless adapter fits. I then installed it, powered it on and it frags with a red led on the modchip. i again repositioned it and this time it just goes to the m$ bubble screen with the xbxo logo and just stays there. So after a few more times of messing with it. I gave up.
Can anyone help me with this.

no what it does is when he powers on the xbox, the chip goes red and doesnt go to the xenium menu but it shows the xbox splash screen and then the xbox logo doesnt go away. _________________ XBOX

Are you sure you properly identified the version of your Xbox? Still sounds like either a D0 issue or something bent on the solderless connectors. They are easy to bend. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

all i did is open it, and put it in. Its a 1.0/1.0. idk whats wrong. Rs6 n2o siad it might be the chip. Maybe can 1 of u guys take a look at it 2 see if it works or somtin. this is my first chip. At the Xenium site there is one thing you might try. They talk about "the paper trick" and it may help. What it is basically is a small piece of paper wedged in a specific spot (I can't remember where right now) that lifts the pins in a way to ensure full contact by all. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Abracadabra:
Take a small piece of paper and fold it into a small wedge. Place the wedge under the outside edge of the screw housing (the opposite end from the pins)then screw down. the wedge should force the adapter down on the pins giving more contact.

If you want, you can send it to me and I'll get it running for you. If you want to try something, just to see if possibly it's the chip (if you are convinced your install is fine) you can flip the recovery switch and see if you at least get the recovery screen. Since you have a 1.0 mobo (has an extra fan on the board, right?) you will get a blue chip on the screen and it will say safe mode.
If this happens, then it just means the OS is corrupt and all you have to do is burn an OS update disk, and then install the OS on the chip.
If it still fails, then you may want to try a different chip..you may have a bum chip.
If you disco your D0 connection, does the Xbox boot up normally?

i tried everything, the recovery switch, and playin with the d0. i havent had any other color on the chip besides red. i would like to send it out but i have 2 get back from mustang week in myrtl beach first. _________________ Xbox v1.0
