This is a simple question really. I've backed up several of my games on Memorex DVD-Rs. They work great on my modded XBox. but when I try to play them on an unmodded XBox v 1.6 I get a message that says I'm using an unrecognized media type. Is there a way to make backup games that will work on an unmodded XBox? Thanks. _________________ XBOX v1.6

The easiet way to play back ups is to do a softmod. If the directions are followed you can remove the softmod to play on xbox live and then restore the softmod and you back to playing whatever you have. _________________ Xbox v1.3

You cannot play backup's because they aren't digitally signed by microsoft. That is the only type that will be recognizd by the stock M$ bios. You need a softmod or hardmod to put another bios on there. That will allow you to play back-ups. _________________ XBOX v1.6

I was thinking of how to bypass when I made a custom softmod pack (here long time ago but probably isn't here anymore) my idea for the stock xbox with a dvd remote that contains the movies that has xbox games (Van Hellsing) but since I don't know how to make a small dummy files thinking it's a legit dvd movie that just loads up the movie and the menu to play the demo I couldn't have it working nor if it's even posible to even by pass it. Even if it did work you can't posibly even play full games that is over 2 gigs since it'll be over 4.37GB (dvd-5) and I highly doubt if dl dvds work with most xbox dvd drives since it can't read and even if it did work lets say all of it bypassing and able to read dl dvd+r's the price isn't worth it. For halo games you could just make a multiplayer/single player only dvd's but the hassle of getting the right files are a pain and also you might be band from xbl but since it sense that it is a stock xbox it might work but it's a theory to me ofcource. If you read this and made it work then good for you but since I was the one who even thought about this couldn't figure out the dvd movie/xbox thing just give me the "props" for your success!
