A good example are all the *insert choice word here* "guys" who were trying to learn how to standby, all they could do was time themselves out.

Due to the closure of Halomods.com there has been a rise in forums around the net about cheating and modifciation. Microsoft feels anything involving, **stated in the second link**, and aren't making many exceptions.
Be warned and also, with the thoughts of modding and cheating on live, mainly Halo 2, M$ has no qualms about attacking any site that condones it..
I've happened to stumble upon this info, and felt like passing it on to the members here. Don't Cheat, Get Xbconnect.com for that.

HQ does not endorse game modding and will be going through our database to cull out anything we feel should be removed including tutorials, downloads etc etc..
Please do not ask for help on how to do this as your posts will be ignored, moved or deleted.
HQ is here for the hardware modding community and other nice software but not for game modding.. Get over it..
well there is a difference in game modding and game cheating. i have no problem with people modding levels and makign their own levels in halo and modding vehicles or what not, you can do some neat things and they should not be grouped in with the cheaters.

still.. Game maps are illegal.. Im sure the ninja gaiden guys will testify to that.. Im just not looking to attrct unwatned attention when we are here to mod mostly..
I love gaming but to tell you the truth i could never be bothered with a custom map or hack.. So i feell personally i wont be supporting it here or offering the files that i have been warned about..

alright guys, listen up
I'll be making a site sometime here soon- to support Game modding and such- So, dont worry, you guys can -direct to me. Its just game modding is such a huge thing for me (I NEVER USED HACKED THINGS ON LIVE BYE THE WAY!!!) and thats one of the main attractions to the xbox (modded one)
but then agian, thats the field of work im going to get into though, so its kind of diff.
I've gotten some do and DO-and DO NOTS from the Webmaster at Bungie that will help me out.
And tech. Hobbs, PPF files (What mods the halo maps) Are NOT illegal. Just PPF's that mod the ENTIRE game's wepons (or that maps) and vechiles.
Sharing the Map file itself IS ILLGEAL! AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!
secondly .....can you guys help with doman nams? like what the site should be called-
and if anyone could help out with making the site look nice that would be appriciated!

i am puzzled how you can get game hacks to work when on live...since I have never even done anything with game hacking you must forgive my noobishness with it all.
I do have some customers though that want me to help them with halo modding so they can jump higher during system link play. But, some have also mentioned they want to be able to do this whle playing on XBL.
I just don't understand how you can do anything on XBL... Very puzzling for me. I really need to get with the times and break out of my hardware configuration hole that I have been stuck in for the last year or so.

I have just read the links (from your original post) and I think it's cool that someone is doing this.
I remember my very first experience on XBL. I was one of the first to be on...at the time I only had what was on the starter disk (whacked and motogp).
I remember that I couldn't believe what some of the other riders were doing. How they were jumping over me, going so much faster and hitting turns that were just, well, unbelievably fast. Plus when if I bumped them, I immediately spilled and they didn't!
It was actually before I even knew anything about modding. I remember not wanting to play on XBL anymore. Until a few of my friends actually got on and we were able to have our own fun...but, as a competitive person who really wanted to race and prove that I was good... I just couldn't. Everytime i got on a game I would have to bail because I could tell there were ppl cheating.
I don't care what anyone wants done to their own machines. Who am I to tell people what they can do with their property.
But, just know that cheating doesn't make you a good gamer. If you are serious about gaming...then game! Don't cheat. It's not very becoming.
I do however think there is a place for gamemods. I think it would be cool for others who want to make their own creations and battle others who do the same. That could be fun for those who are into game hacking/modding. Afterall, if everyone is allowed to play with gamehacks/mods then it really isn't cheating. It's more of showing off what creative ideas or things you can exploit with an original game. However, reading the severity of the consequences of even condoning such acts startles me somewhat.
Who knows..maybe somewhere down the line there will be a place to do just what I have mentioned... Maybe private system link games for people who have modded games and such. Modding can be such an art sometimes..that to me, is the attractive part of modding. It's sad though, that people take advantage of this art and taint it by cheating online and ruining others experience. I can honestly see why there are so many angry people. I was one of them at one time.
For those who have had negative experiences there are many clans that will cater to the straight forward older, more professional gamer. Whether your experience was tainted by a cheater, a racist, or just an immature person who had nothing better to do than to insult you and sling obscenities over the mic, here are some links as posted in the official Xbox Magazine:

Modgod- i should get my xbox tomarrow- so says UPS tracking-
i cant wait- i have my X3 face plate assembled as much as i can get it before i slap it on the box. I also went out and got another HD.
I'll take pics when im finished with its glory- it wont be anything impressive, but keep in mind this is my first chipped box- the possibilitys are what i think endless..
As for the new maps- They are HARD to hack- i cant even get them run, its a combination of alot of things- there broken up in segments on your Tdata in the E drive. I've heard they use EEPROMM backing in order to keep them from being hacked and exposed like a girl at mardi gras-
im working around the clock here trying to get them to boot up- seriously-
i'll post pics of a grunt standing in the middle of a completely f-ed up Relic-
right now im tweaking with animations on Halo 1 -since halo 2 seems to be unhackble after the map pack- im trying to get MC to do cool Melee moves- but honestly im not familer with the type of engine there running- all i ever ran was blender3d, Unreal 2, Unreal 2 X- and a demo verions of Unreal 3 engines. I've also used Torque- which i may add is quite good.
I think the prob. im having is i cant tweak the Xbox GPU to the right setting i need it to be- i have a GPU editor that i know for a fact works fine- but my C++ isnt as good as it used to be (i havent been in school for a few months since break)
so what do you guys think about Lokimischif.net? It will be like the little annoying bro. of the HQ? yay, or nay.
