Our hosts have gone way out of their way to make me and us feel welcome here. This is something we could only dream of at X-S.
My threads on X-S have been locked and I was letting the main one die anyway. I have no ill feelings about them locking the thread at all. It was turning into a lame bickering match and let's face it I could have turned the other cheek and let it roll on til eternity.
There's one thing really unethical and it's this. From the time they locked the thread yesterday to the time I viewed it today there is 1000 less views. Obviously this is an unethical tatic to make the thread appear less significant than it was. They dont seem to unsdestand I have kept stats daily and record how many new views are on the thread per day. Trust me this is the firsts day views have ever gone down.
Over here we'll get credit for our accomplishments and over there we got ridicule and flat out rudeness. When I asked how mnany hits they get a day over there and what does a banner ad cost I got ' Nobody is asking you to spend a damn dime here'. I was so embarrassed for them and their stuck up banner ad I said fuq it there's no way to tell my agent that ask me to inquire that's their reply. Then 8 hours later on IRC they re-word their reply and try to persuade me to re-read it. I'm like oh hell no, hell no.

I've never understood the way that the admins and users work that site. The hostility is incredible and from what I see, it's all about a lack of maturity (hands down). When someone is new or even if they are not and post a question, the idea is to try ones best to answer and probe as to what the issue is. All too often I had read posts that are replies to questions belittling the person posing the question. If it's to be that way, why waist the time? What's the point? If the questions are just too hard for those that post the reply, why don't they just not hit the reply button? I don't visit there much because it reminds me of a shower room at high school with all the dumb jocks trying to seem important and having the IQ of a pancake. You know there is always going to be a bit of that 'training by ridicule' method where everyone makes fun of somebody until they smarten up. I guess it turns out to be a problem if the guys handing out the ridicule aren't that bright, like you mention.
They have some good ops over there I can mention Chancer in a positive light hands down no problem. For every OP like him there's a rude op, or an op out to push some hidden agenda, or the ops that write such terrible interviews you actually have to quit reading. If they can not learn the AP style of news reporting then they are a big joke. Or the classic 'let's make this guy op to push this agenda' and then 6 months after the agenda has failed miserably there he is still an op.
Also they tend to attract every aol'er with a problem, and not by accident, by design and that's how they got to be the biggest. So they really don't cater to the tech savy users that much and if they did they wouldn't be so big. They pretty much bank on plenty of lost sheep and not so many leaders to grab them by the nostrils and lead them back to the path when they wander off the trail.

Me either.. Really what a waste of bandwidth the site is..
No one ever helps and you can never find what you need..
I must admin there are some nice guys i have met but they are too far and in between.. HQ has certainly given the X-S website a run for their money and we run totally on donations and money from my own pocket..
Not like X-s.. I believe its like 1000USD for a banner rotation.. my god.. lol
Anyway, glad you stuck with HQ.. As you need more space in the forums let me know.. Of course feel free to upload any related material to our site and link to them from your forum here..
