Hello!
Apologies if this seems to be in the wrong area but i thought it fitting as i'm a "noobie" when it comes to "handling" the boards (subjective to ADMIN approvals as it should be) so i'll do my best to contribute effectively toward this community!
i'll likely run into certain issues but nothing the friendly lot here couldn't point me in the right direction toward resolution!
............
so thank you all for allowing me to be part of this community and thanks to all high level staff for entrusting me with this responsibility, i'll NOT let you/THIS COMMUNITY down! (i'll be in-touch if in any doubts)
............
i hope to speak to many of you, some familiar and some not but in any case, i won't be far!
should you have any issues, please pm me and i'll attempt to resolve it as best i can. failing that it WILL be passed to the administration for their perusal/approval/assistance!
as stated, i'm new to "board management" and still figuring out the site ui. (picking it up gradually) so all my actions are subject to upper level staffs as it's should be!
...........
well, that's enough guff from me, take care ladies and gentlemen, i hope to speak to you's soon!
........
amiga1200 Smile Cool

great to have you onboard mate. Smile Do you still have an Amiga? I got my old retro shit all setup, c64, amiga etc. I occassionally muck about and code some stuff. I used to write music and games for the c64 n the old days and sell them. Were you in the Amiga Scene at all? I was starting to get into it but moved on to PC.

My old C64 Scene stuff:

Very Happy
i'll have a look at that link later...marking down old threads for possible destruction atm! thanks!
Smile
............
my amiga? i have a few models but as you can tell, the a1200 gets my wedding veg ANY day of the week!
sadly, i'm lacking a vital upgrade to bring my a1200 "family wagon" back up to spec and as a result, i'm rarely on it!
the demoscene and sound tracker/studio kit is what glued me the f*ck to that machine, not least it's games.
i wasn't very good at the "creation" of programs/editing aspect of the CBM series but it was easy to see what skill at coding could bring in terms of the GFX handling...the audio aspect (if plied correctly) is as good as ANY high-end studio deck specific to music and didn't cost your d1ck to get one...well, that was then and this is now! Crying or Very sad
id love to get my hands on an a1200 cpu mc680060 (or x40) 64/128m expansion card! (ATI/ppc, picollo, blizzard) but i NEVER see anything like that anymore!
shame, because it was my favourite music player (delitracker/eagleplayer) and most of the games just "did-it" for me anyway!
emulation (imo) compared to the real-deal is third-rate (NO disrespect to devs that work on emus to make it possible for us all, i'm merely pointing out the limits of resources and perishing histories and you can't be expected to work with nothing, yet you try...:humbled:) but if it ever does pan-out in the future, i'm SO there! at least i won't be forced to keep my eyes peeled for a f*cking leprachaun! Evil or Very Mad (i wait in patience)
....................
yeah, the c64/v20 was a quality machine for it's time!
two shmups jump out at me on that machine...
1, I/O a horizontal shooter that came VERY close to a500 standards in gameplay, GFX and music! took my head CLEAN off when i first played that!
2, salamander. a konami coinop shotter (81 i think) that when it came to cassette...well, as far as a home port went, very FEW ever cut the bill!
the only thing i didn't like about the cessette version was the tape loading inbetween levels and to really wreck the buzz, there was NO continue and when you died, you was forced to load the title-intro back again...even a system reset could qualify for that effort..
(i use coinop as a term to relate ALL arcade/amusement cabinets..PLEASE don't screw me for using a term that's directly associated with the "project" of the same name) Confused still, those were the days and i did ANYTHING to get my fix!\too many other great titles to name but...
..........
i haven't seen much of the demo scene on the c64/v20 bar lately digging through red-tube...i like the "prosonix & fairlight" stuff...did one i think recent (2012) ( i've not figured out here yet, two places i know use the link in a COMPLETELY different way to get the same result...wait, three places now! tag name is always the same though....hmm?)
......
i've just WAFFLED on like a bastard...sorry about that! Embarassed
.............
i'll look at the link when i get time...just doing the "mark-up" of the shit... Wink
good stuff! Razz
