Actually I was curious about this myself. I told my buddy about it, now he doesn't want to softmod his box. He wasnts to hardmod, But I need to eperiment on someones box. _________________ XBOX v1.6

OK... so i mooded my xbox last nite usin softmod installer delux... and left it unplugged overnight.
Woke up this morning and turned it on... it booted to evo x properly.
The clock had reset it self to 1:00am 6/6/2004... I think I'll keep my xbox modded lol

6/6 Hey that's my b-day > anyways no, the new exploits now are not prone to the clock loop problem. I've left mine unplugged for several days/weeks/(gasp!!)even a month or so before, and it didn't have a problem coming back on. _________________

apparently whenever the xbox clock had to be reset, the original dash tried to load... but because of the softmod it couldn't, causing the xbox to confuse it self and reboot...

Yea man, I got that much, but what was the specific reason prior to and the reason now why it is NOT applicable now.

It was the font hacks from long ago, when the clock tried to load, it had to use the fonts, and those fonts were made so that when they loaded they caused an exploit to occur, and this put the xbox into a loop of trying to set the clock and trying to load the hack. _________________

Just like what he said here.
I had forgotten about it. What happened was, there was a softmod process including a font exploit.
It would change the default fonts, the clock screen (when you leave your box unplug for several hours and asks for the time/date again) would go into an infinite loop, not allowing for any way into the hacked mod. You would have to let it run its course if it did. _________________ XBOX v1.6
