Hey guys, I had a weird prob with my X3 chip install.
Went thru a tutorial, and this was the result.
I got a second X3 and had the same result.
Soldering is not an issue, been doing eproms and such for a few years now. (atleast I thnk its good) Confused
Has anyone seen this before. I'll try to post a pic.
The screen just rolled vertically on a 45deg slant.
It rolled so fast I couldnt even really see what was on it till I took a pic.

Anyway I have since removed it and ran the softmod on both my boxes.
It works fine on both.
But I would like to be able to install the 160GB I got to go with
the chip and take advantage of the chip(s).
I bought these @ modchipstore.co_ and the tech help wasnt
good enough. So I kinda gave up on them.
Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Later

PS sorry for the pic size but shows the prob good

Are you using the standard A/V cords that came with the machine?

No I bought the M$ Hi Def AV pack cables
It appears just like putting a pal dvd in an ntsc dvd player but it is in color.
The pal/ntsc dvd incompat is usually a black and white screen.
I dont think it is a pal/ntsc issue......could be wrong tho-

I have yet to to try the X3 in my new (2nd) xbox, but it might be time to try it?

Try the stock A/V cables. You will only need to use them until the chip is flashed with a x3 bios. The flashbios screen(cromwell) doesn't like anything but stock. Give it a shot.

Ok I got it flashed with X3 3108bios
It is working nice !!!!!!

However-
I decided to go in and do some ftping, but I cant get in.
When I go into network via config live
It freezes up when I press "A" to change the IP address

I also ran EVOX dash and tried to ftp, but no there too...

I noticed this freeze up before when I tried to change the date set up.

Is X3 bios 3108 a bit buggy ?
Would anyone suggest another bios set ? Or is it a setting issue ?

I did install a larger HDD I got from modchipstore.co_m
and it has EVOX 3921 on it.
I had EVOX 3935 on my stk HDD.
Dont know if that matters, just FYI
Thanks again Cantgetright

Follow up-
I flashed X3 3294 bios and the freeze up problem I had in the
IP and Date / Time settings is ok now.
For some reason 3108 bios I got from the cd bios pack
gave me the trouble......
Ftping like crazy now !!!!!!! Very Happy

Just FYI

No problem. Glad it is working. I didn't have any problems with the 3108 bios but I downloaded from the VIP section. The 3294 is a better bios anyway.
