Im runnin windows xp i hook my xbox hd to my computer and it will not allow me to see anything. device manger tell me that its there but it will not allow me to access it. do i need to run it in win2000 or win 98. it my first softmod can anyone help????

stock one?

Regardless if this is your original stock Xbox HD or a larger HD, if the HD is locked you will not be able to see anything.

If the HD is unlocked, it depends on how you are hooking it up. Do you have the jumper set to slave or master? This will effect how you can write, but not read.

Chances are, you are trying to view the contents of a locked HD.
