hey everyone, is there any way at all to get xbox live downloadable content, without xbox live? via a pc and burning it to a cd maybe? i'd appreciate any info anyone can give me on this, thanks.

This is actually an interesting topic, as the community has been talking about that as of late, I forget what post though...
There's a couple of theories, that it's stored either on the C or E Drive as that's all there is on a retail xbox for storage (my guess is it's in the savedata on E Drive). So, in that case it would be quite possible to just FTP over the content using a Savegame Manager...
Sorry I couldn't be more specific about it, but it's definately a topic worth discussing a bit more. Why not join up and become active in this?

Any new "News" on downloadable content, it's been a while since previous post, I would have to agree with "DJB" as it's saved in E where the game specific data is stored. I really dont have any interest in Xbox Live except you can add Maps to "Unreal Tornument"....That would be SWEET!!!
So if xbox console "A" downloaded the maps then take game-saves of Unreal Tornament from A and transfer to "B" .......Would that transfer the maps?
I would try it but I dont know anybody with X-Live.........

Nah, no definate news. The only thing I can think of it would be saved in the same area as the other data for your game.
So, if you use something like Xbox Game Saves Manager once you've got the content, you should be able to capture it (hopefully)...

It was something that asmunch and I were working on together, but asmunch ended up having some personal issues to attend to and hasn't been back on in quite some time. I was downloading the data and he was assisting me in getting it ready for dowload.
I have a few machines here that I have to chip, and I am also getting my own site up and running (thanks to tweakedhosting.com) so once I free up some more time, I will try to jump back to the project myself.
I was just thinking about it since last week when I downloaded the hurricane pack for Ninja Gaiden. Anyone who isn't on Live and is a Gaiden freak like me will love this pack!! It's awesome, new weapon, new maps, new camera angles, new enemies...it really makes the game worth playing all over again...as if you needed a reason!

hey, doesnt xboxlive downloads show up as game saves? like when i downloaded mechs for mechassault... they showed up as game saves in the memory. maybe we could use a program like XBSM to transfer them from the xbox to the computer then to xbox-hq.... whatcha think? _________________ XBOX360

Yeah, XB Saves-Manager will work. If you download all the content for MechAssault and back it up with XBSM it takes forever! Much longer than any other game. Crimson Skies and Splinter Cell are the same way.
I'll post a link to the Mech files. So, someone who doesn't already have it can download it and let us know.
(Admins: its a large file at 55MB, I'll take it down until you have a section ready. Just testing to see if it works.)

Lastly, if posible please state if the game is NTSC or PAL, just in case of incompatibility problems.
